How well does the game run on a MacBook Pro?

I've a desktop and a 2013 MacBook Air. My desktop's motherboard recently died, so I had to turn to my MBA.

Regrettably, when running Eve, the fans spin up to 100% in under a minute - I honestly don't like my MBA overheating so much, nor what it does to its battery.

I'm now considering two options: Replacing the motherboard on my desktop, or upgrading my MBA to a 2015 MBP (one with Intel Iris 6100 only).

Does anyone play Eve on an MBP? How is game performance? What settings do you use? Does it stress the notebook too much (eg: heat/fans)?

Any feedback and experiences are welcome, since I'd only be willing to upgrade if I know I can run the game without it hurting performance or my new laptop.

I play on a MBP 2014 - slightly worse GPU, I think it is Iris5500.

So I mostly play on high settings at 1440xsth resolution, it is sometimes a bit sluggish when I do sites with asteroid and gas environment. And I need to have it cause of gas sites in sleeper caches - I want to avoid them. But it is not really bad - sometimes hacking gets slow, I need to wait like half a second for a node in a hacking game to activate.

Except that - I had a problem when attending a 150+ fleet, and fighting with another ~100 people. Then my fps dropped like to 2fps. Probably lower settings would be better. I wish I had a gaming pc for Eve, cause the Macbook was bought for IT development (and I thought I will not play games anymore, thanks CCP ;)

So if you can play on a gaming desktop pc with a normal GPU - please do.
Otherwise it is ok - but could be better. Macs are not really good at games.

I play on a mid 2014 MBP with 16gb ram and a 2gb nvidia GT750m GPU, i have most of my settings to high except for a couple and i usually maintain 30fps with slight drops if it gets busy. Granted i don't rum any third party stuff and don't participate in the 100+ player fleets.

I have a 17", mid 2010 MBP. 2.66 gHz i7, NVIDIA 330M.

I can run 3 clients at once, all on low settings, except for shader and texture, which are medium. I sometimes get short 10 second freezes if I also web surf. FPS is low when I run 3, like 10 to 15.

Sisi mass tests bring it to its knees, with the fps dropping to 1 to 2 during the PvP fights (250 on 250 ship fight at a gate.)
