so I shot this drifter...

just arrived in amarr to shoot some goons, then those drifters showup, not knowing anything about them as I had a break for month, tried to shoot them out of 100k range or something... those things popped me with just two strikes...

Well.. I guess you are going to have to go one-man-hellcamp the Drifters for awhile after this. I hear the Goons are still reeling from the vicious lashings you gave them after the last solo-hellcamp campaign.




Since the cessation of their usefulness is imminent, may I appropriate your belongings?

I think your good, there are even some capital losses on there. Some of these are just down right painful to look at.

its pretty ugly, have seen those as well... pretty cool move from ccp to have them shoot you that hard without any warning in highsec as well, my safety was green... too bad I did not put this on fraps

As far as the lack of any warning, I think that was kind of the point when you consider there presence/intent/abilities are suppose to be a kind of big mystery to us players -- call it the "charm" of "Sleepers in High" idea.

Also, does it seem they hold back a bit depending on the situation? I've warped several times to one of their observatories and been shot at by Drifters (they don't seem to like me messing around their structures), but as long as I keep moving and put some range between me and them, they seem to miss. I've yet to see any of them use their instant-I-win weapon, though I haven't actually returned fire on them either. I was MWD'ing in a cruiser at around 80km from the closest Drifter BS last time I did this.

Nah, drifters have a quality control unit; your corpse is currently being turned into "pedigree chump", a new healthy food for fedos, it's got electrolytes.

No, because it is well documented as being a bad idea.

Similarly I would not poke a sleeping bear to see what happens.

this thing won't hold back as soon as you start shooting, I think i was far out like 50-100k it still only took him 2-3 shots to kill me, I think I hit him 3-4 times before that... 10 people would kill him fast though, I think... too bad nobody was helping out
