Can't move in battle - why?

I have been running Level 2 Security missions. And the last couple of battles against many Caldari in my Vexor Cruiser, I haven't been able to move around. Its like I am locked in space. I am not trying to warp, just move towards the enemy ships.

What are they using against me that prevents me from moving and what do I need to have to prevent this?

After I kill all of them I can again move. These last couple of battles is the first time this has happened to me.

Nothing should be preventing you from moving at all. If you're just moving slowly, it's a webbing effect. If you check the area immediately above your capacitor when this happens, you will see the icons of what the enemy is using on you. Hovering your mouse over them will tell you what they are.

You're being webbed by the NPCs.

Identification: Look for the web icon above your HUD

Direct Counter: None - there's no module that "turns off" a web.

Indirect Counters: (work for both NPC and players).

- Jam or damp the ship webbing you

- Kill the ship webbing you

- Fly out of the Optimal Range of the webifier

- Use a MWD or AB to increase your speed

- Use an Energy Neut to empty the attacker's capacitor, thus not allowing them to run the module (not effective against NPC)

Don't some missions have something like webifier towers..or whatever theyre called.. that have like a 60km+ range? Make sure your mission overview shows those entities as well. Chances are there is more than one in that pocket with webs on you.

Since the cessation of their usefulness is imminent, may I appropriate your belongings?

Thanks for the responses. Yep I must have been web'd and there might have been a tower also. Now I know where to look to see what the enemy is using against me - that is a great help as I wasn't aware of that.

Generally speaking it's the frigates that do this to you, kill them first.

If you mouse over the web icon over your capacitor wheel it will tell you what's webbing you.

Tip: ctrl-left clicking this Icon will target the little fecker doing it to you ,assuming the prerequisites are met I.e. within range ect ect...

I think I recall that mission, investigate ruins and an ambush turns up.

Stasis Tower, has long range web.. reduces your max velocity

Might be a bit tough for a Breacher, could need to upgrade to a Talwar or a Bellicose.

Often frigates will fly in close and use stasis web modules to stop you moving but in that mission I think the tower is the only thing using strange magic on you.

You do take a standing hit for destroying the Caldari Stasis Tower, it's not much but at some point you will probably be deciding if that is the route you want to go.
