so i am having issue where whenever i try and open the game as the game launches the game no longer responds. i have already tried running the repair tool, clearing cache , verify integrity and i always end up with the same problem.

whats happening is that i even tried uninstalling the game and when the download and install was completed it said all files are OK and verified. once i open the launcher it then downloads 1-2 updates and when i log in it then says it needs to create a secondary files and then extracts the files in another location for multiple users. once that happens if i run the repair/ rescache.exe or verify integrity with steam it says i am missing all the files and it then starts to download the game all over again.

so atm i am current;y at the point of just cancelling my account since i tried uninstall the game twice and downloading it again and nothing seems to want to make it work. turning to the forums for hopefully some final insight before i just give it up

I am having the same issue since latest patch. I would consider myself to have above average technical / troubleshooting knowledge.

I have nuked my entire perms, nuked every bit of local data related to eve/ccp, redownloaded both the normal and the offline installer, reinstalled patched. etc, etc.

I would estimate I have spent appx 10 hours attempting to troubleshoot this issue along with some friends

rescache.exe didnt fix this issue for me.

I created a new partition, threw windows 81 on iti, installed drivers and then eve, obviously game works then. Unfortunately this is not a tenable solution for me.

If anyone has any suggestions, would love to hear them!

I too have this issue.
Haven't logged in for a week or so and no longer can I launch the game. The evefile.exe*32 runs in task manager but I get nothing onscreen.

Wondered if it was something to do with graphics cards as this is the only piece of hardware I've changed since my previous login.

Attempted repair.exe but this fails as well.

Make no difference if you try DX9 or DX11 either nor running in safe mode.

I have now spent over 16 hours personally,, and prob upwards of 50 man hours attempting to resolve this issue.

I have not been able to login to eve for like 4 days now, it is very frustrating watching your friends and corp be adversely impacted by your individual inability to login to eve. CCP my sandcastle is falling apart and I cant do anything about it!

Ok, got a fix.

Go into whereever you installed Eve (i.e. c:\eve)

and run the file "rescache.exe"

Essentially, the cache is screwed and it needs rebuilding.
This worked for me but too a little while before it finished,

didn't work for me. what happens is that once im done downloading the game the rescache and verify integrity says all files are fine, but the moment i open the game it wants to make the partition for the download on demand and once that is complete the rescache and verify intergrity says im missing all the files and have to download the entire game again. i have tried keeping all the files where they were and download the game again and when the download is done again, the download on demand extracts deletes the cache, recreates it and im stuck in a loop

My subs are beginning to lapse... 9 accounts will have lapsed in 24 hours. I see no use in resubbing the accounts if I cant login and play, and I wont be able to post here as well to bump this thread.

I have lost like 45 days worth of wasted sub time now because of this issue across my accounts.

I feel your pain Boson...... literally **** this launcher/game... i broke my game launcher for acouple hrs again..... gettting duality to fire up but not patch..... so RIP duality, and then my tranq launcher stalled and then proceed to not even bother running again along with repair.exe, rescache seemd to be borked and not wanting to touch it after it spent quite a few minutes deliberating trying to tell me i needed 2 gigs of random stuff... anyway i just reinstalled the launcher and bam instantly in 20 megs......

One workaround for those that are having Launcher From Hek Local...

Somewhere on this part of the forums is a link to a pre-release Launcher iteration. It's been the temp fix for a lot of Launcher issues, that might be a possible assist. Gimme a few and I'll see if I can find that link.

No guarantees! But one of the CCP Devs gave this as a workaround for a series of Launcher problems that are effecting many with the current iteration release.

Steps. Delete current launcher in the CCP file. Download linked one. Open. Run. Ignore using Repair.exe, it keeps breaking itself. Run rescache.exe, that seems to be more reliable. Hope for the best.

Same issue here. I havnt logged in for a few days so I had gotten any updates since downtime if there were any. Basically my update bar just stays grey and if I try to log in the "play" button is greyed out.

Any hope of getting this issue officially resolved soon?

A sometimes fix to the Grey Button/Bar of EverWait.

Change language on the Launcher, then back to the one usually used. Usually kickstarts the Launcher into allowing any patches and the bar turns yellow to finish logging in.

So I bought a new HD and did a fresh installation of windows after waiting what had to have been over a week for this to get resolved. Despite the fact that I sent a very detailed support ticket in, explaining exactly how to replicate the issue, I have recieved no responce from CCP. This is very disheartening, as this issue caused me to be unable to use a significant amount of subscription time. Hopefully you guys get your issue resolved, I will continue monitoring this thread for responses and assisting anyone else who has this issue.

so finally managed to fix the issue.

- what i did personally was a complete uninstall including the shared cache folder.
- after the initial install was done. i deleted the launcher folder and manually downloaded the new one and when it asked to create the shared cache folder, i also put it in the same hard drive as the main install hard drive, before the cache was going to my ssd forgot to change it.
- once those 2 things were done i chose the option to download all the files in the launcher settings and after an extra 2.5 gig update i am finally able to start the game and not just a crashing eve.exe file on startup.

hope this helps
