This is bs, mac users have no excuse to complain about EVE. If your unsatisfied with how it runs in OSX, use bootcamp and install windows, then run the standard EVE pc client.

My Mac Pro runs Windows 8.1 Pro perfectly, and games just fine in windows when I'm not booted into OSX. The older tower version of the Mac Pro can have up to 12 cpu cores, 128gig ram, and any vid card you want up to and including a Titan X.

So, if Mac OSX isnt fast enough in games for you, just install Windows using bootcamp and dual boot into it. Problem Solved.

MacPro (mid 2012) dual 6-core Xeon 3.06ghz, 64GB ECC Ram, PCIe-SSD, 2x SSHD, BD, SD, Nvidia Titan Xp. Running macOS Sierra 10.12.4.

We bought the Phillips system, I think it was called Video 2000. Two sided tapes and they released one that could record 8 hours just in time for the Royal wedding. I think that's why we bought it.

I have silly parents.

I STILL have laserdiscs sitting in my bedroom. Ooooo man.

You so young. I still own vinyl LPs and cassette tapes. And I have working equipment for both.

I feel like these 'Mac whine' threads are really more 'whine AT Mac' threads.

I have a Mac. Macs suck at gaming, yes. But for productivity, nothing beats them. I have yet to see a version of windows that LOOKS LIKE NOONE PUKED ON IT. And that's why I use Macs. o7

Although its true that Macs have 10% of the market, it can be clearly seen, from most of the replies in this thread, that it is the top 10%.

Also, my Mac uses an NVIDIA card.

Also, there are many ways to get Eve on a Mac. If needed, CCP will swap to some other method.

Also, there is nothing in that article to suggest that Cider will stop supporting all Macs. Why would they take a small market and make it smaller?

HAH, i'll see you vinyl LPs and cassette tapes (i still have some too, tried to be a DJ in college and ended up doing nothing more than scathing up all my dad's old records), and raise you THIS MARVEL OF TECHNOLOGY that I still have because I restored my parents '79 Cadillac and it has a player Big smile . I got Kool and the Gang's "Ladies night" album on one of the two 8 tracks that work, and the other has 1970s TV shows theme songs like Starsky and Hutch lol.

All i need is an 8-track to Ipod adapter (probably be backpack sized) for when i go jogging Big smile

The Cider wrapper IS wine. Thats why CCP has other options. There are alot of versions of Wine out there.

How did you get to the idea they were the top 10% when they seem to have such a damn hard time using bootcamp?

Where do people get the idea that using Bootcamp is automatically such a great solution? Paying for Windows and jumping through all of MS' hoops to make sure it's totally kosher with them so that you can reboot your machine every time you want to play a game--and hold down a key to select the operating system that you prefer to use--is, to borrow a British term, pants.

If I wanted Windows I'd have a PC.

Cider is such an old fork it's silly to call them the same. There was once a Linux Client based on this transgaming crap and no one used it because even back then (~2007) wine produced the better results. So yes, there are some options for CCP, but to use a fork which is not contributing upstream and does not profit from the other companies working on the same code base is probably the worst of them.

This. My Linn turntable is still doing its job. Though I'm old enough by now to not hear much of a difference anymore when comparing it to my old denon 2560 cd player Lol.

The best part about Mac is being able to drag that Windows to trash when you're done with it Big smile

Well, we'll see how many dedicated Windows/ PC lovers start to change their tune when Win10 starts deleting game files because they didnt work well with an update.

Win10 is designed to kill the PC, not improve it.

anyone got a link for Linux handy?
