A variety of hopeful and frightening discoveries are rumored to have been made through research on Vitoxin strains conducted by covert Minmatar capsuleer laboratory research teams. These teams’ reports have combined archival research stolen from Eifyr, Sebiestor Tribe, and Core Complexion molecular engineering research labs and their own studies of Drifter entosis technology. New molecular level capabilities offered by entosis technology involve the ability to remotely manipulate and monitor the DNA inside the dense lipid shells that Vitoxin viruses contain. This new capability has magnified the rate at which genetic mutations may be studied and controlled. Some findings also seem to suggest that these researchers have been able to decrypt Vitoxin’s mutational regularity that empower its Amarrian creators’ monopoly on an antidote. They have also claimed the ability to produce algorithmically divergent strains that could become much more difficult to predict and cure.

The implications of these groups’ findings have many entities throughout the Empire and Republic both worried and hopeful. Leaked reports have revealed breakthroughs in the ability to re-engineer Vitoxin DNA to weaponize a cure for the Vitoxin-infected through making variations of the same cure retroviral. Many retroviral mutations are undergoing testing. This could also mean that such a retrovirus may have the ability to naturally evolve its own cure against further deadly mutations among large, dense populations. Some of these antidote strains have also evolved the ability to be widely communicable through airborne transmission.

If these leaks are true, such a finding may very well mean that without further advances in Vitoxin antigenic protections, slavery by way of antidote dependence could very soon cease to be an option for Amarrian slave holders. Not only this, but both slaveholder and slave populations would collectively be highly susceptible to the mutated Vitoxin agents themselves. Infected populations would have the most to gain from such a development. Researchers theorize that they would have enough base anti-viral resistance to new mutations that ‘antidote’ retroviral strains would accelerate through their populations much faster than more deadly strains. However, currently non-infected populations could quickly be crippled by having no historical anti-viral resistance to any prior Vitoxin strains.

Minmatar research firms have been sought for comment but have yet to make public statements. Insorum producer, Ishukone Corporation has held closed door meetings after the leaked findings and have also not produced any public comment. Amarrian biotech firms have largely denied the findings as baseless and impossible. They have suggested that Minmatar researchers could not have the intelligence to reverse engineer such a cure to the Vitoxin, but nevertheless, God would not allow such a cursed development to happen to the Empire. A prominent Federal Navy Academy epidemiologist has spoken out with warnings concerning the theoretical viral transmission models. She suggested that Minmatar’s isolated tribal societies may not be dense enough to maximize rapid ‘herd immunity’ with retroviral communicable Vitoxin antidotes. She did suggest, though, that Gallente society would prove to be most superior in allowing such positive transmission vectors to aid immunity should a “Vitoxin plague and counter-plague explode.”

This research has now led to great breakthroughs for the enslaved Minmatar to counteract the Amarrian oppression leveraged through their Vitoc virus.
