Surveying Program Window Question

Just a quick question about planetary interaction - in the bottom right of the Surveying Program window, the Program Output is listed as -

Per Hour Units
Total Units

Per Hour Units should be (I think) the average pull per hour of raw materials over the duration of the program, which would help pinpoint an average of 6000 units per hour (the exact mats needed to produce basic factory products).

However, the number is not actually the average, but is actually the amount of units that are pulled in the last cycle of the program. That can be seen just by hovering over the last bar in the graph.

This to me seems to be a bug, and I've read at least one blog post that agrees, but does anyone know if that's true? Or am I just using this wrong?

It would seem to me that the most helpful number would be average units per cycle over the duration of the program, not simply the number of units of raw mats pulled on the last cycle.

Thanks.

The accuracy of your survey will improve significantly as you train planetology and advanced planetology. Your harvesters should always deliver to a storage unit or launchpad - that will balance out the variations in yield over the duration of the program.
