Pirate T3 cruisers

Of course the pirate factions would be interested in a ship such as T3, being so flexible, cloaky, and above all equipped with nullifiers, if we look at it from the fiction point of view.

They shouldn't be overpowered compared to ordinary T3s, but should be more flexible and slightly better. Sansha one could be a laser boat able to receive bonuses to both shield tank and armor tank (but not at the same time), while Gurista one would be a Tengu configurable as drone boat. Maybe they could have other bonuses too, but nothing OP.

Betting an Angel one would continue the tradition of OP.

I'd love to see these just to see what the art teams could come up with for Sansha and Blood Raiders!
Would be very tough to balance.

lol, balance in EVE :)

Why not start with pirate destroyers and BCs? It gives everyone more stuff to blow up. There's enough cloaky/nullified T3 ships out there as it is.

I'd prefer to see, rather than full pirate T3 cruisers, the pirate factions filling in the missing 5th subsystems for each slot.

SIMPLE:

CCP PROMISED a 5th subsystem for the cruisers...

Solution? Give us 'pirate' subsystems for each of the cruisers. These would mimic the standard pirate roles, and have higher bonuses than recon ships.

Example (legion):

Defensive: A Sansha version that gives a huge bonus to shield HP

Offensive: A blood raider version that gives a range bonus to nos/neuts

Powergrid: A blood raider version that reduces the PG requirements of nos/neuts

Propulsion: A Sansha version that reduces the cap usage of MWDs

Electronics: A sansha version that give a strong bonus for TD

Example (Proteus)

[These are all Serpentis]

Defensive: 15% bonus to armor HP per level

Offensive: 20% bonus to hybrid damage per level (no drones, or 5 lights)

Powergrid: +2 high slots, +2 hard points

Propulsion: 5% increase to MicroWarpdrive capacitor bonus per level

Electronics:10% bonus to the velocity factor of stasis webifiers per level

I'm more in favor of full pirate T3. Pirate sysbsystem would mean that likely no pirate T3 will be available, so I think regular faction sybsystem is better.

Also while Tengu is something Guristas would base their design on, Sansha and Angels as well as Blood sometimes use their own designs, so from fiction point of view full pirate ships are maybe better idea.

And why just subsystem when we can have whole pirate T3 ships?

I will edit this post and add my opinion on pirate BCs and destroyers later. I tried to post little earlier but forum ate my post.

Are you confused about how T3 ships work?

No Iceaero. Unless you want pirate sybsystems to need two racial sybsystem skills as prereqs instead of one. But then you can make a new ship too.

Like new sansha ship that can use select Legion and select Tengu systems. When I said these ships should be more flexible I had precisely that in mind.

If new ships are to be better, skill requirements should be upped too.

This sounds very much like a "Because it would be cool" set of ships.
We don't need cruisers better than T3 already are right now.

With that reasoning we don't need any expansion and improvement to the game at all. You could've said that more important issues in the game need to be resolved first, but as you expressed it, your argument too is only justified because you personally don't like it.

Yes I'd personally like to see new T3 cruisers. Does that make my opinion invalid?

Well that's the thing, CCP need to stop (or slow down) expanding the game for a while to focus on improving all the stuff that we already have. Fixing bugs, balance issues, reviving things like faction warfare, lowsec, maybe somehow make mining and missioning fun Shocked etc rather than making T3 pirate cruisers (that would be the most OP and unbalanced thing ever) and other "cool" things.

T3s aren't actually OP, given their cost and the fact that you lose SP when you die (or risk enemy taking your shiny ship if you leave it), and the fact that gankers can still own you in cheap ships.

Just because something is good doesn't mean it's OP.

Yeah, Eve needs a lot of things. Just 'another super-cruiser' isn't one of them.

I would much rather hey fixed stuff already broken with the game than add something else to completely screw up.

It would be nice if, just for once, CCP would finish off one feature before working on the follow up to it. T3s are still waiting for their 5th subsystems, and introducing pirate subsystems would be a distinct and relatively low-effort way for CCP to fill this gap.

A whole new range of pirate T3s would be a massively larger commitment across the whole of CCP (balancing, art assets, etc) that would take huge amounts of work to introduce, and wouldn't offer much more in terms of gameplay.
