Thoughts on status of ships?

I left EvE a while ago, just as Fozzie Sov was announced, and have been back less than 5 days.
Is there still currently no reason to train beyond cruiser? From what I've heard, they have nerfed capital ships into the ground. Battleships arent worth undocking in for PvP, same with Battlecruisers, as it'll just get raped by ishtar's and T3's.
Why have CCP done this? Made have the tech tree of any given race useless? is it to encourage new players? what would need to happen to bring the big, non-capital ships, back into use as the first pick in a big fight, rather than ishtar's?

You still should train above cruisers, BC & BS are worth of try, Carriers same popular as before. T3's and Ishtars are still online.

Train for BLOP and one of the Dread and you are good. And i'm not sure what happen to FCON if their meember has to ask forums what's going on.

i fly in lowsec, where BS fleets are pretty common, but if youre in nullsec i can understand not wanting to train them. BC warp speed was recently increased to 2.8 AU/s, making them viable as a roaming ship again. just add a single hyperspatial rig and youre good to go. the Sleipnir and Absolution are still very powerful ships for solo/small gang and fleets respectively.

It's true. Once you train your armor hacs to 5, you kiting skills to 5 and get enough logi bros you have reached the end game of eve.

There will probably be 2 more minor nerfs to ishtards before they realize that it truely is unbalanced to allow sentry drones on cruisers and bc since the addition of modules that buff drones. (the math is pretty straight forward, so that can't be what's got them dragging their feet)

In general, while I do immensely enjoy eve, my opinion is that the ships move too fast. I'm talking a measure of 3 to 4 times faster than they all should (ok I'm all right with BS speed cuz they are slow as it is).

I think everyone's going to see exactly what I mean when Valkyrie comes out. For that matter, the last video shows what I mean all too well. Most of the ships you see in that battle with the amarr fleet are slow and lumbering.

It would not surprise me if sometime in the future, the hammer is going to drop and everything gets slowed down.

i dont think so you should consider that the fastest ship i know of cant beat 10km/s thats only 0.0033 c which means the ships still move far to slow but if we go faster we will get in the fun of relativity distortion
