The game has no real form anymore, it just throws updates into the meet grinder, says "let the players figure it out" and then nerfs everything once people start to use it and find their niche furthermore the decisions are plainly becoming arbitrary.

It is no secret to veteran players that changes that effect the entire games player base have routinely been made over the last two years simply for the sake of nerfing individual players or small groups within the game, who are commonly considered to have too much power at their disposal.

A word of advice before I go further to CCP and Dev; You are making the same mistake that a lot of MMORPG's make right before they go into decline... You are hurting the entire player base to stop certain individuals from doing what you don't like enough cancelled subscriptions will cause a money pit and cost you your jobs.

Goonswarm was recently victimized by such an update when jumping was nerfed because they had almost completely conquered nullsec. Anytime you get far enough, along comes a nerf to knock down your dominos. The reason given for such a nerf, was because null was becoming stagnant, that's what happens when you consolidate an empire, no more enemies and you rule over everyone. Goonswarm has now swung from being ruler to wounded fish in a barrel.

It has seemed lately that CCP has been under new management, as their characteristic style of slow, careful, sensible, incremental, change has been replaced with rash, short sighted, implementation of deliberate kill-updates targeting and singling out individual players or groups.

If this continues, it will lead to the decline of eve. CCP needs to slow down their zealous overhaul. It is too much too fast. It isent a matter of adapting to change any longer, when on a daily to weekly basis, no one knows how the game has changed or what is next on the chopping block, the process now seems almost completely arbitrary depending on who is being watched or finding an exploitable niche.

Smiting those who take initiative and find revolutionary and dynamic new forms of gameplay will destroy EvE and make it WoW in space.

Pardon? By my reckoning, we've effectively won Dominion Sov. All of our traditional enemies are dead and have left nullsec or are on their way out more or less. The only ones left are us, and the mushrooms that sprung up to claim the space NC. and Nulli left in the massive vacuum of their exit.

After that things ground to a halt while everyone waits to see what fozziesov brings.

Emergent gameplay encouraged by an unstructured sandbox is a large part of the reason EVE has survived as long as it has. As players we have wide latitude for innovation in the way we use the tools CCP gives us but we can't change the tools themselves - only the developers can do that. The balance that would be achieved through innovation in the real world needs to be provided by nerfs or buffs in the game environment.

Change rarely benefits those at the top - the best they can hope for is to maintain their position. For everyone else, change is an opportunity for things to get better. In a game context, we have new things to learn and do - basically more reasons to login.
