Greetings space friends!
Myself and my two friends recently completed a hefty scam of approximately 100 billion ISK. The story can be found here.

Would have thought that after the Erotica1 fiasco scammers would never post anything showing the scam.

They might get accused of torture and Ripard Teg, Space Detective, might get on the case.

Everything in EVE is a trap.

And if it isn't, it's your job to make it a trap...:)

I've joined a few corps with alts over the years and asked for a bunch of cash to finish some projects or to start up a programme, then walked away with it.

Sure, chuckle to your mischievous self about it and count your beans, you put the effort in and you reap the reward. Posting audio of a dude guilty of nothing but being too trusting though? Not so much. You sound 12, and probably are.

Congrats on a well-executed scam. Enjoyed reading the EN24 article. The SoundCloud recordings were illuminating - I think the victim had a generally good attitude about the debacle: the game was no longer fun for him, so he decided to take a step back.

The only thing I find abhorrent about all of this are the bears commenting on the EN24 article.

What do you mean? The recordings are still up and can be listened to. My dearest space friends, there is nothing wrong with posting recordings of other players.

I also disagree with most of the comments on the EN24 article.
It could be argued that posting recordings isn't "nice" to the person involved, but its not something to get banned over. Posting tears is a common and well-accepted practice in Eve. Whether the tears are in written or spoken form shouldn't matter.
Plus, simply embarrassing someone on the internet shouldn't constitute harassment.

On the bright side for the victim, He probably earned back a considerable portion of the isk from all his sympathizers. He should be grateful the story was made public, or he wouldn't have gotten a cent.Bear

in most of the united states it's illegal to record someone without their knowledge, or at the very least its illegal to record things as a thing part listening in on two people's converstations. I can see CCPs stance... breaking the law is a EULA violation I think.
