Tracking camera post 1.4

This has been brought up in a couple different threads now but I think it needs it's only little snowflake post to make sure it gets attention.

Since patch 1.4
"Fixed the tracking camera moving erratically when the new map is docked, and made various other small improvements to the general functionality of the tracking camera."
Something done got broke.

Tracking camera is being operated by a drunk after undocking/grid warping. Selecting an object on overview for the camera to center on result in the camera meandering all over the place. Manually moving the camera around and then re-selecting an overview object seems to snap it out of it's funk but it happens again after every warp sequence.
A really annoying issue when warping around a system dscanning locations in pvp.

We are currently testing a fix for this. Will be deployed as soon as possible.

Will you guys reimburse losses due to letting such a big bug through QC)?

It's like completely spazzing out when you click on anything you want to look at...

Been around since the beginning.

It is a pain, I hope the fix is in before I log back in in a few hours. My cam will actually drop to 0 (straight down) and violently wobble endlessly., if I'm zoomed in close.

Edit: Nope, guess not. Weekend engulfed Iceland Straight

I'm in it for the money

Every time I see a record about improving the tracking camera I want to hit the developers with something heavy.

I don't understand why CCP made this freaking flying camera for simple rotation by three points.
We have 3 point:
1st point our ship (center of rotation), 2nd point current tracking position and 3rd point new tracking position. This creates a simple 3d angle and all we need is to rotate camera relative to our ship on that 3d angle as fast as posible without camera pirouette and aerobatic maneuvers.
That's how rotating the camera works in desing and CAD softwares and you don't need to invent the wheel

Truly it is very annoying, when the simple angle something about 15° and easiest way to move camera is move in a straight line, but instead, the camera starts to perform a inside loop with the speed of a turtle in absolutely wrong direction.

PS
I want to rotate camera with wheel mouse button.

Update please. Has your fix worked? When is it getting deployed. EVE is pretty much unplayable with the tracking camera enabled.

Good morning,

Has there been any update to this fix? The tracking camera in its current stats is really becoming bothersome.

This!

Being myself into the IT business, it´s always the best solution to keep things simple.

There is no need for fancy moves when you have tracking = 1
If you manually move it you can´t mess with it as much as you want. :)

Well, it is sunday soooo.....
It isn't life altering enough that I expect anyone to give up their weekend for it and nor should you. Have a beer take a pill and carry on. (Figuratively. I'm not promoting drug or alcohol use)

Unless you deployed this patch sometime late last night, it certainly is not fixed -- any word on when we'll actually see a fix? This is becoming quite troublesome.

Think it was a typo, the fix has been deployed today, although I have seen some people still having issues. If you are one of those people, please file a bug report with very clear expected behaviour and a short description of what it is you're trying to accomplish with the tracking camera - we don't always catch every use case and so it's always good to be specific. Feel free to comment here with bug report numbers - I'm watching the thread.

Can I confirm that everyone experiencing this issue has their tracking camera set to "Center Tracking Position" rather than "Custom Tracking Position"?
