Just wondering: Can dscan be automated?

Sometimes when I'm somewhere I shouldn't be doing something I shouldn't be doing and I really need to know when the bad guys (They'll all bad!) start getting too close and it's time to get real inconspicuous it would be nice if I didn't have to remember to hit the scan button thereby avoiding yet another nasty surprise that invariably ends as yet another frozen corpse in space.

The best way to automate d-scan is to live in a wormhole for a few months. After that you will subconsciously d-scan every 5-10 sec in your sleep.

just as a general rule CCP frowns on any and all kinds of automation. They don't allow any kinds of addons or anything that does anything outside of normal keyboard keys and left and right mouse clicks. I'm not even sure about programmable mice and keyboards that simply duplicate what you can do with shortcut key mapping in game that is considered a grey area that CCP refuses to clarify.

Automatic repeated keyboard or mouse clicks are not allowed, they explicitly stated so when.... probably better to not mention :P

They COULD make the server automatically feed you the d-scan information, like the Overview does (you don't need to refresh the overview), but in order to not kill the server and your internet bandwidth, they'd probably have to make it update only every 30 seconds or so. Which means the bad guys can find you and land on top of you in between d-scan refreshing its info.

Let's face it, you spam-click it way more often than "every 10 seconds." You'd never be satisfied with 30 second delays (and neither would we, which is why you see these categorical NO's and people getting rather angry).

Well, I guess that answers that, but it would be nice to set my G19 with a hot key, but that's super frowned upon as well. Thanks for the answers and fly safe unless your shooting at me then it's hoped something really important and high voltage breaks and goes boom.
