EvE Launcher Crashing/"Not Responding"

When I open EvE nearly everything within the EvE launcher loads up except the "load bar?" This little bar at the bottom of the launcher which shows the status of a patch and an update.

Right at the time the "load bar" needs to begin loading the EvE launcher stops responding, and I have to "Force Quit" the launcher. Is there a workaround for this? Maybe there's a way for me to launch EvE without the launcher?

Anyone else experiencing this?
