Anshar vs. Ark Price

Hello,

Structure on JFs has 0% Resistances, right? (so Gallente bonus to structure is useless?)
(you get 100% reduction in Reinforced Bulkhead CPU requirements, but they reduce the cargo space; troll CCP!)

I would expect the Ark from Amarr to have the biggest armor? (yah, I just checkd)

Ark: 55.2k armor (50/35/34/40)
Anshar: 40k armor (50/43/51/10)

They both have almost the same cargo space.

Did I miss something in the low slots besides the Adaptive Nano Plating?
You have no CPU for a Damage Control...

So if you tank on armor, the Ark has more HP and better resistances (distribution), why the 500mil price gap?
Anshar 6.8bil+ vs. the better Ark at only 6.3bil+

If Ark is better, why is it cheaper?
Thank you.

Simply put, supply and demand.

There are far fewer pilots that can fly an Ark. Gallente has been the dominant hauling race since the start of EVE. So for the major part of Eve's history everyone by default trained Gallente for hauling. it all started with the Itty 5 Big smile

Have you considered build costs. Smile

While it's likely because the Anshar costs a lot more to build than the Ark, the Anshar does have a better tank until you start using Slave implants and Faction Adaptive Nano Membranes on the Ark, and even then the Anshar can almost match it with just faction bulkheads.

I'l take the supply vs. demand. Prob. build cost also has an effect, but then how are they balanced?

But I still think the Ark has better tank then the Anshar.

Long story short, I will sell my 5? years old Anshar, get an Ark and 500mil to play with.

Not that your JF should ever be shot at, but it'd cost 2b+ to get a better tank on the Ark over the Anshar as far as I can tell.

hmm, I see what you did there... but getting the cargo down to 120k its so sad. plus it makes it slower.
but you are right; Anshar has better tank with bulkheads.

Even unfit the Anshar has a slight edge on EHP and cargo, but slower align times, they're close enough that it doesn't make much difference, but at least you can pick one and fit it in a way that suits you, just play around with them in EFT. At 500m difference there's not much incentive to stick with the Anshar though.

Why would you need tank w/ a Cargo Expanded JF? Smile

If you fly it around Hisec, you're looking for get rekt even on an empty haul.

If you get bumped off a bad cyno placement, you'll get rekt regardless.

Yes, demand and supply with production costs being on the supply side (the supply curve is actually the sum of the marginal cost curves).
