Sorry for another thread about this but they are relatively simple changes and they seem to get lost in random comments if posted in other discussions.

1. Use the following abbreviations to designate ship type in overview (can always be an option if people don't like the change).

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hull_classification_symbol

2. When setting waypoints where you double back threw a system flip yellow gate symbol so return route is indicated by the arrow on the right instead of the normal left position.

3. Allow multiple instances of the overview in one client so we can have more information on screen.

4. Allow the targeted ship icons to show information such as transversal speed next to them instead of just on the overview.

5. When using the tactical display show the heading of your ship and any targeted ships via some sort of graphical arrow.

I think this is a good start to what needs to be added, if the coming expansion is to be inspired by "war" then I think CCP should look firstly at how the interface can be improved to facilitate better communication in battle.

1,4, 5 supported as some fairly easy and useful GUI changes for all players.

2 & 3 probably would boil down more to a personal preference.

Have an option that changes the vertical line on the tactical view to instead intersect at the distance circle that the ship is from you. That way even though something is 500km above you, the line doesn't come down directly on you.

The vertical line would be angled to have the white dot at the actual distance from you.

Add a 'Repackage' and "Stack All' button in Inventory/container views.

Add "Split Window" button to separate chat windows from a tabbed group (remove 'drag-split' function, keep 'drag-join' function)

Increase the size of the Overheat toggles

Include turret optimal/falloff ranges in the fitting window, change default ship orbit to the lowest optimal range

Include net results for launcher effective range in the Info window (and fitting window as noted above)

It is hard to tell if something above you is in your range bubble, but it is easy to see the white spot is inside of it. Sadly, unless your target is on your range circle, the white dot means nothing. I want it as an option. (I like using the vertical line to make perfect Undock Instant warp bookmarks out of stations with vertical undocks.)
