so if CCP is not willing to broadcast their own competition, why dont we simply ignore it all together?

I mean, if they decided to kill the little competitive content they got, let them do it - they will see in the end
whats gonna happen, let them cut back their own wages and jobs as well.

Not sure if this has been mentioned, so here goes:

In keeping with the 'player generated content' theme, I feel there is something that CCP could do while still not broadcasting the event.

Allow one extra ship for each team. An observer ship. Cloaked and no weapons.

They are there for one reason only. To supply a player generated stream for each battle. There are plenty of people in each alliance that would jump at the chance to do this for the rest of us to watch. It costs CCP nothing and provides us with entertainment on the first weekend.

I'd sure be curious to see what kind of sweet stuff can be produced from an amateur stream team.

The AT has always been the EvE event of the year for me, I guess CCP decided to kill it though together with trash tier prices.

Even a noob can stream on Twitch so any reason not to broadcast the initial engagements is probably arbitrary and stupid.

Maybe it is pathetic, but I really look forward to watching the tourney, I schedule around it. I heartily sign this petition.

Not showing this would be like the NCAA eliminate the first round of March madness. Some of the best and most exciting games.

a big part of the AT is a farce anyways, because some entities are fielding several teams. At the price of other proper entities are being left out.
So why watch those matches if you never know if it is a real..
..there have been scandals in the past on that issue, but CCP does not care about it.

I really don't care about the crap that comes.... There's still some very good fights that come out of the preliminaries.
The prelims are also what set the meta for the rest of the tournament.
