Launcher starting in offline, yet another case.

Whenever I go to launch the game through the launcher, it starts in offline mode. I've checked the exemptions on my network and everything there looks good. I've done all I can think of. I got it to work yesterday by going into the bin folder and running eve.exe as an administrator but today that quit working, giving me a wrong build message. I have windows firewall turned off, no antivirus, I'm about as opened up as possible yet no connection can be made.

Any other workarounds for this?

Check with your internet provider. Some of us on the east coast US are finding that a connection that allows the launcher to update and play is being throttled during primetime. From 5pm to midnight we can't update and the only way to play is to leave the launcher on 24/7. Check out the AT&T thread below and you can read how the same 3rd party router is blocking all of us.

Not saying this is your problem, but we are having the same issues.

I would say so but my internet isn't throttled in the least bit and this problem persists pretty much 24/7

Weird thing is EVE is the only game with this issue for me. Run 50mb all day long. Can update and play BF4, WOT, WOWS, Origin, Arc and a few other online games 24/7. Can play Eve 24/7 until it is time to update or if the launcher has to restart. If it is between 5-12, I can forget it. Took my laptop to the office last week and updated at the office. Came home and could not get the desktop to update, but played Eve all night on the laptop.

It only throttles when the launcher is involved. Run a trace and see if it is dropping off or being blocked somewhere. At least you can eliminate that part.

I've managed to get it to play last night for a few hours after my friend told me about the bin folder .exe bypass. Other than that, I've yet to be able to even get the launcher to connect to let me play. It's absolutely ridiculous, this seems to be kind of an epidemic.

Ok, I'm glad I'm not the only one with this issue. Every time I try to ping the EVE server it's bringing back another IP address saying the Destination Host is Unreachable. I've tried this from two places now, home and the Office.

People: "You shouldn't burn bridges." Me: "I don't, I bomb them from orbit."

Was just having this same exact problem and here is what fixed it for me.

Turned router on and off.

Turned cable modem on and off.

Rebooted PC.

Worked perfect like usual after this.

Not saying that this is the fix for you guys, just that this is what fixed it for me.

But yeah I had the launcher coming up in "offline mode" and when I tried to bypass the
launcher and run the .exe it came up with "not able to connect to port xxxx".

I'm running windows 7 + Road Runner / Brighthouse.
