So looking at the two ships I am immediately blown away at the mistakes in their bonuses! Or what I only pray as mistakes.......

First, the Imp

So it gets the exact same bonuses as the succubus with the 7.5% tracking, 20% AB speed, and 150% Turret damage.

1) Extra bonuses, 5% per level range to disruptors and scrams........ 5% really? Pretty weak

2) The absolute joke! 15% reduction in Microwarpdrive signature radius penalty per level. Are you serious.... an mwd bonus on an ab ship with a bonus to abs....... noone fits mwds to these....... fix this now! (my suggestion - add the 20% shield resist bonus the fiend gets! and remove the mwd bonus)

Second the Fiend...

So again same bonuses as the phantasm with tracking, dps, and ab speed.

1) new bonus - 20 base shield resists (pretty awesome tbh)

2) 5% bonus to Warp Disruption Field Generator scramble range per level. Really? A unique ship that is supposed to use a field disruption module only really used to catch supers! This 150 bil ship will get raped by supers. This is the most moronic bonus for a HIC wannabe ever. Please change! (my suggestion lose the field disruption bonuses.... add the amarr recon cruiser bonus.... 7.5% tracking disruptor bonus per level and 10% bonus to drone damage and hp per level..... which means give it a 20m drone bay!)

also you lose your drones on these ships.... drones are actually pretty important. Please make these ships awsome!

Please look at these ships closer..... the dont do anymore dps than their faction brothers, and tbh it looks like you got super lazy and said "lets take the existing ships we already have and just add some useless bonuses".

One guys opinion who really really cares about the tourney and the ships. You did a great job in designing uniques ships in the past.... really dissapointing this year so far.

Agree regarding Imp.

As for Fiend, add one more bonus to make it awesome: can be remotely rep'd while WD Field is active.

Pretty sure these ships conceptually began as "Rise and Fozzie walked into a bar......

Twenty drinks in, they decided to design AT reward ships."

Hopefully, the buzz wears off soon and they take off the beer goggles, roll over, look at these hideous things and hope that no one ever finds out that they touched such an ugly creature.

Not much I can counter on this one, it does seem a bit underwhelming, especially compared to something like the Whiptail. I will say that it has quite a good slot layout for an inty, 4 mid, 4 low is impressive, but honestly I think It'd be served better by trading a low for another mid, making it 3/5/3, to allow for dual prop, tackle, and a decent shield tank.

This one is...interesting. Yes, its from a class of ship that serves to tackle supers, but hictors are great for other situations too (in bubble mode). While I agree that in terms of raw combat strength, it falls to the previous classes, this is CCP's attempt to continue in the vein of the Chameleon - ie Specialized Pirate Ships, with a combination of strengths. In this case, the Fiend is essentially a Broadsword married with a Phantasm, resulting in the potential for a ship with solid (though not incredible) dps with very good application, a heavy shield tank, extreme AB speed, and a mobile bubble.

The other thing not to overlook is that its immune to the mass/speed penalties of its Warp Disruption Field Generator...just imagine for a second where that can take you on a hull like this one...

I will mention that a quick looks says the PG seems a bit tight, so that's something else to look out for.

A smallish drone bay might not be a bad addition, but otherwise this looks like an interesting ship.

Here's my 2 cents on these odd and badly designed bonuses:

Give the imp a higher ab bonus maybe 30-35% enough so its faster than a succubus but slower than a mwd ceptor(it's suposed to be a ceptor anyway right?)
Increase the warp disruptor range bonus to 10%
Replace the laughable mwd sig bonus for something like energy turret optimal, energy turret rate of fire,ab activation cost or a smaller resist bonus than the fiend say 10-15%.

As for the Fiend I doubt anyone is really excited about it's class or bonuses

Make the Fiend either a recon as has been a case with all previous pirate cruisers,a HAC,T1 BC or even logi .

Again as with the Imp increase the ab bonus 25% maybe even 30%.
For the recon choice give it a tracking disruption bonus on the recon skill bonus and an optimal for energy turret on the role bonus (maybe 30% optimal to still not make it project damage too much)
For the HAC choice move the 20% resist bonus curently to heavy assault cruiser skill(4% per lvl),or make it a rate of fire bonus)
For the T1 BC choice give it the ability to use 2 gang links(skirmish and siege maybe),dps on par or slightly higher than the navy harbinger and maybe a resist bonus.
For the logi choice similar bonuses for remote repairs as all T2 logi,an AB bonus as with all Sansha ships and maybe a tracking link bonus stronger than the curent on scimitar and oneiros.

And as a last thing make them new hulls because just slaping a new paint scheme on an existing hull shows lack of commitment.I asume the frigate will gain the second sansha hull which is used by NPCs but what for the cruiser? Will we see like last year just a new 'Gila' with a tiny logo on it's wing?

Imp is awful. The name fits it well. Just double its damage bonus and give it a 20% resistance bonus, and it will almost be as good as a daredevil.

Fiend should have either/or:
1) Can be RR'd with bubble/point up
2) Bubble acts as a SCRAM so ships inside cannot MWD or MJD.

+1 to nightmare skins, as long as you make them actually different than the regular skin (unlike the rattlesnake lol).

And please if the rattlesnake+nightmare become SKINs, please please let it still show up on dscan as "Victory Edition"!!!

4th place: 3 Cruisers and 3 Frigates

How is this meant to be distributed when there will be more than 6 players, surely there should be enough for all participants?

If you're that desperate for payout sell them and give each of your 12 pilots 75bn

Or aim for fifth place and save yourself the trouble of finding a use for these ships entirely. :)

Hi Mates,

I'm the one that put together the AT XIII prize ships this year. Poor Fozzie & Rise get blamed for everything...

Anyway, some quick points -
  • These are not the final stats for the ships. Its an early pass without any play or balance testing - expect them to change. I'm interested in your feedback, so post (constructive) criticism or suggestions.
  • The design goal of the AT ships is very different to that of any other 'normal' EVE Online space boat. Practicality is unimportant compared to 'theme' & 'coolness'.

The Imp is a Sansha Interceptor, so its bonuses are going to be coming from that heritage. Sure, warp disrupt range (outside of the standard ceptor bonuses) would be powerful as hell, but that's a Gallente or Mordus bonus, not a Sansha bonus.
Given its current stats/bonuses it will have a 59km Faction Point range while doing 3.8km/s+ with an afterburner (w' Bonuses/Overloaded).

The Fiend is a Sansha Hictor. Do we expect players to use the Fiend to tackle supers? Well some special snowflake probably will..but on the whole no. We expect you guys to figure out unique and interesting ways to use them. I'm sure moving with an AB at 2.2km/s+ while having 100k+ EHP and having a bubble up could be used for all sorts of shenanigans.

Cheers,

Regarding coolness - i will quote myself from the other thread:
Kadesh Priestess wrote:
Now how would i do it:

For TQ meta, all prize ships will have ~0 impact anyway, so i will consider mostly AT meta.

Lasers are quite vulnerable platform by itself (TDs, neuts, inflexible damage type over the top cripple them), so i would make them oldstyle combat uniques which are on par with t2 laser combat classes, but are scrambler-immune (i.e. reach almost mwd speeds using AB). Alternative idea would be to keep base sansha AB bonus but make them web-resistant (50% web bonus - 4 webs slow you down as one). I would not try to add any other roles apart from damage mitigation and laser-delivered damage - because sansha are known for these two. Amarr ones were neut- specialized (with minor laser/missile effects as a cherry on the top), blood are ought to be nosf/web specialized, so this is our only chance to get laser AT ships.

In their current form they are almost useless as laser-based damage dealers. HIC would fit blood raider theme much better imo.

Hey look guys theirs a bubble moving at 2.2km a sec that cant get repped let kill it with a single mwd hac thats faster...

Hics are used for 3 things CCP, Tackling supers, Gate camping and Rolling whs they are not usefull

Maybe Idk give us a useful race of ships cause when I say blood soaked in the title my pants got a little tight in the pants about a Blood Raider / Curse sexy love child.

Also when dafuq are we going to see another Gall ship as the tourney prize, plz give Serprentis / Gall ship with web and point bonus :P

That would be WOW... A ship fit of winning an AT something that can actually be used right in pvp.

I would give the HIC a reduction to cycle time and cap cost for warp disruption field generators so that it cycles every 5 seconds or something.

This way you ensures he can receive reps relatively quickly. Otherwise there is simply no point in this ship, given its pricetag, it would be suicide to ever light up the bubble.

Does anybody actually think these ships will be used as part of a fleet ? lol, they are just trophies, the bonus they have are meaningless because the ships are hanger queens. Any that are brought to a field will be insta primaried.

How about....give them a damage boost over their useless and totally inadequate regular versions like the phantasm?

The last AT ships have had coherent synergistic bonuses. You're current ships are mix match of useless rubbish. Hey lets give it a HIC bonus we don't expect anyone to use....great thinking

unironically I am probably one of the few people that would actually use the hic part of this ship

Also the "you'll figure out how to make it cool" totally defeats the point of the AT ship prize. You don't "figure something out" with the chameleon or the moracha, they are innately strong using all of their bonuses....

I wish their paint jobs had been more imaginative... White seems strange, vs Sansha's typically dark and gloomy theme. I would have liked to see some kind of crazy tribal tattoo looking markings.

As for the 'super' bonus they have over normal sansha ships, why not stick with the faction theme, look at other sansha's. How about the incursion enemies, look at the stats of them. Would be badass if these ships felt like you were flying a tattoo'd sansha incursion frigate or cruiser.

not that i care as if we field a team it will lose hilariously, but HICs are useless ships that exist to fill one specific niche - tackling supercaps in lowsec. they're bad, bad, bad ships in any role and it's only that one perticular role they can do something nothing else can (albeit very poorly).

so if you're making a "cool" ship the instant you select a HIC you're in a bad place. you can't just give it a thing other hics can't do (in this case, go "fast") and make it good, because a HIC is such unmitigated garbage that one neat feature might set it above other HICs - but way, way, way below any moderately useful ship.

if you want to make this unique and, for some reason, want to stick with a HIC, let it receive reps. that's the only thing that would possibly make it powerful as opposed to hilariously bad.
