Aww. I was just about to try and turn this into a debate on the pros and cons of socialism. I even brought my socialist retardant coat in expectation of the inevitable commie tear storm.

I'll just move along then. This evenings entertainment has been ruined.

You can buy PLEX for $35, and some sites give you a bonus PLEX for buying enough of them.

I figured it out that you could pay in PLEX at a monthly equivalent cost of $16.79 (14.88 EU / 131.32 NOK) That's based on PLEXing monthly for two years though...

It's similar here in that we pay more "Because Taxes" (nudge, wink) but the discounted CCP long-term packages still work out cheaper. (equivalent 10 EU / 90 NOK @ 12 mth)

If I was paying monthly, I'd still be paying by PLEX bought from US sellers for dollars.

They did change EU tax laws in January this year to mean that digital services get charged VAT in the consumers country - so this change is probably related to that and isn't going to go away. It must apply in Norway too as an EEA member.

Over the last month we've averaged 24000 online(and declining) which is the same as we averaged in June 2007. Compared to 34000 in June 2010. Upset some more people CCP, EvE is nowhere near dead enough yet. Edit: BTW that's 5000 less than post Incarna....

I really like Eve... But there's a limit to how much I'm willing to pay for all this skill training lol. It's like people think Norwegians are so rich anyways, so lets just take some more out of their pockets. I don't know whether to dislike CCP or the Norwegian government here, but since we're not getting any official and detailed answer, I'm just gonna chose to dislike them both.

I would like an elaboration on the subject matter. It is a significant increase and makes little sense considering our government has increased the purchase limit on foreign services before you have to pay tax.

I'm Norwegian and could not be happier about this news :D

I might finally be able to quit this game since paying almost twice what i already do for all those "mostly" inactive accounts is ludicrous anyways..

So a big thank you to CCP. The monthly 600Nkr u have received from me (+ the plex's for bling) can now be spend on other games that i actually play Big smile

I feel like quoting my favorite poet, Dr C. Sheen... "WINNING".

PS! This is sincerely not a rant.. i am genuinely happy about this Blink

CCP said some years ago "we are at a point we can lose subscriptions"......some time later they said "how can we keep subscriptions?"

So you don't know whether to dislike CCP or Norway ...over a TAX issue? You know it's governments that raise (and demand) Taxes right? for profit companies don't just up and decide "you know, we need to pay more taxes, and charge people more so that really ticks them off" lol.

If you are Norwegian and don't like what's going on, Talk to your government.

I know this is sarcasm, but how is it someone Else's fault that you choose to pay for something you don't use? I see that a lot around here, people blaming others for their own faults.

Such a nice fellow. I'm sure you all know.

Could this be some internal decision by someone to shift a burden of some sort. I'm aware the customer doesn't pay tax before a certain amount is spent...is there some fee structure for a vendor to sell to Norwegians? Interesting. We've heard how Icelandic banks view their jobs...

That would mean that all EU subscribers should get an increase not just one nation...

Edit.: For the record i've opted to not renew the subscription on 2 of my 4 accounts due to this. As im mostly spinning my ship in station as the nature of eve, affected by the jump changes have made the game a dull place. im likly to unsub all accounts if the next expansion in july dont improve the game.. Been some fun 8 years but why spend 80-100 euros a month when the game have turned intoa station spinning money drain

CCP changes all norwegian subscriptions from 14.95$ to 19.90Euro or in Norwegian Currency 123 NOK to 184 NOK.

Looks like CCP are doing their best to reduce their player base.

I also want proof of their claims.

according to Norwegian law you can buy products from forign countries for upto 200NOK (or more) without having to pay any aditional tax

So if you going to claim local taxation then please provide us with the proof..........

Billing changes for Norwegian players

Hello,

We would like to announce billing changes that will affect our Norwegian players as of July 1st.

We will need to remit VAT to the Norwegian government as of July 1st. As such, we will need to change the billing currency of all Norwegian users to EUR.

This change will come into effect at the start of July, and from this point onward all Norwegian users will be billed in EUR.

Best Regards,
EVE Online Customer Support

I am from Finland, and know how rich you guys are because of oil (because WE are rich, then you must be unimaginable rich).

Just stop for a second and think how your "problem" feels for somebody in Russia or Ukraine, they have had their currency rates to blummet too, you know(?), it must have made their game more expensive too...

EDIT: to show my point, think 2 beers in a bar is 20 euro in Norway, so one month in EvE.

I think the best way to get to get an answer from CCP, is not to ask here. From my experience, asking questions like this in this forum only produce a crapload of answers that only pollute the post. Some(or manny...or most lol) of the Forumusers have a set of rules, 1, Get the post closed. 2. make jokes, then get the post closed. 3. Insult the OP, then get the post closed.

Send in a ticket, ull get answers from staff that have no clue what to say, so insist on getting it bumped up until u get a reply from someone that actually might have a Clue... but dont get ur hopes up, this will take a long time.

Ummm... I still fail to see any problem here from CCP´s part, they have always set prices for each different currency how they see those people are able to pay.

Maybe Norway´s currency is now getting a hit, as CCP is receiving less in Russian rubles?

Well it might be an idea for CCP to adjust their subs prices out from the currency value and adjust With the fluxuations.
But increasing the prices will only make players stop buying subs.... but again, it has allready happend and it might be a planned move from CCP to increase pricing to make up the loss from lost subs. People have been leaving EVE in much higher grade than few years ago and the playerbase is shrinking.
