I'm relatively new to trading and lets just say i lost a few hundred million in these because of this crazy price crash the past few days.

Was there something i should have been aware of?

Look at the volume which moved. Somebody has been on a shopping spree.

so, you're saying someone pushed down the price via lower and lower sell orders and is now just buying them all out at the lower price?

because in general, wouldnt someone buying lots of them push the price higher?

They were combined with another meta module that has a higher volume.

P.S. Don't believe the chart as it is the old chart for the old module.

That's a pretty sizeable investment, not knowing what goes on in the sector is no excuse.

Everything was known weeks in advance. Selling off didn't really start until after the patch hit on the 2nd of June.

Rule #5, watch for dev blogs more often the once a year.

Yes, boned. You need to read all patch notes.

You don't even need to necessarily be a genius when it comes to upcoming patch changes. If you don't fully understand the intricacies of the EVE universe and the knock-on effects of a developer's wings flapping then keep it more general.

For example, I just stayed away from shield extenders and armour hardeners ;)

Alyways watch out for Patchnotes, Devblogs and other statements of devs like in F&ID. And then combine the facts and predict the outcome. And watch closely for all related items.

For example: Medium Azeotropic were in Amarr for about ~900k buy order and ~1m sell order before the change was announced. Funny thing was that shortly after the change were made public (more than a week in advance) most people dropped their high buy orders (i think they feared some guy with a high stock could start drop it before the patch) so the buy orders went down to ~200k and for more than a week the margin were around 700k (people pressured the prize a bit but i could hold until the patch was released).

Sooo at the end very good income you just have to really look OFTEN at these specific items as just a few feared people can cut your profit heavily.

You're boned. Pay more attention to tiericide for modules from now on.
