When i update by using the launcher. I get 400% cpu and very very slow download of the patch. I have a 20Mbit connection and while i don't expect ccp to give me all that. I was once much faster and not so CPU hungry just to download.

Is anyone else noticing issues?

Which process is it, that's taxing the CPU that much?

It is Launcher.exe

I have updated with a few relaunch of the launcher. But it took 2 hours. I can live with it. But i am getting worried that one patch soon may be a patch too far.

Can you post the launcher logs, please? They'll help us identify what may be causing the problem you're describing.

You should be able to locate them approximately at "~/.wine/drive_c/Program Files/CCP/EVE/launcher/cache/*.log". It is possible that they may contain some personally identifiable information, you may wish to read over the logs and strip any sensitive information from them before posting.

Adding to this; I've had the problems with slow downloads and install aswell.
This on two different operationg systems, and two different computers(Windows 10, windows 8.1) + (Stationary and laptop) both with ssds.

Yesterday i accidently discovered that unless you actively move your mouse around when the download is happening, the launcher windows will freeze. If you do not move the mouse around while it downloads it will just not update its progress, until the time you start to move the mouse around again. If your mouse is inactive for to long a periode, it will eventually make the launcher completely freeze.

This happens on both small and big updates (tested with a 5 mb updat up to 6 gb)

Very sorry was busy with work and forgot.

In my case it turns out i had run out of disk space and was getting read write errors (its was one of the first SSD drives). My other machine with spinning disks updated very quickly (it has a 1G line to the internets).

Thanks heaps for the concern. Really appreciate the "unofficial support" for wine.
