There should be classes.

Class One is all t1 gear and hulls, Class 2 is t2 gear/hulls, and Unlimited would be as much swag as you wanna risk (faction hull, officer mods, the kitchen sink and fedo tears....)

Prizes would be awarded accordingly.

Class Zed would be rookie ships with all civilian gear/guns, of course...:)

I think it goes without saying that I'm in. However, I am unavailable this week and weekend. I fully support Leto's idea regarding a double elimination bracket, and I'm all for opening it up to other ship classes.

I keep a Fedo and a bottle of spiced wine in the cargo hold of all of my Thunderdome ships. Should I lose they become an offering to The Blessed Mother of Acceleration, and should I win they become a fabulous victory meal.

Fair warning to future Thunderdome competitors: after reviewing the video of the fight, I believe that I have found a counter to the Gila in a Thunderdome setting. I have shared this potential tactic with Badman, but have asked him not to share it until we try it out in practice.

This is a rather contrived counter. It could be used outside of a Thunderdome-style setting, but it'd be harder.

faction cruisers is about as cheap as we get. this isn't really for people who cant afford 200mil isk. also if your struggling to make 200mil isk spare every 2 months (monthly is too much for me time reqs wise) you have more serious issues to address.

I would actually be interested in a vanilla T1 hull competition. Only basic T1 cruiser hulls, but fit any way you like (T2, faction, deadspace). This wouldn't be about being cheap (especially not with deadspace fits), it'd be about seeing just how much performance you can squeeze out of a vanilla T1 hull.

Maybe not a whole tournament, but at least one round. Sound appealing to anyone else?

I like this idea. Shiny stuff is fun, but it would be fun to play around wtih the t1 versions to see what kind of insanity ensues.
It would also lower the pricetag a bit for entry, which may entice (not incite) more participants.
'No Poors' alliance standards might also be able to be mitigated through the fitting of shiny things also? I dunno, just throwing that out there.

I don't have much time except in the mornings, but I'm interested in giving one of these matches a run sometime. Just have to catch me before I'm completely tanked :)
