This was an idea I had a dream about last night, tell me what you guys think...(Yes I dream Eve -,-)

So in this dream a pilot had hot dropped a group of miners with bombers, the miners were in skiffs and managed to fight them off. A miner then dropped a mobile structure that operated similar to the machine used in the movie "jumper"

(for those's not familiar with the movie, in it the main character has the ability to "jump" from one place to another. In the movie they show that he is using a form of science similar to our cynosural fields to travel. In the movie the police start to track him and create a device to keep the "holes" he uses to stay open and allow them to travel to where he went.)

So, to continue. The miner drops this structure that keep the cyno open before killing the cyno pilot. After a time, the alliance of miners re-formed in hac's and heavy dictors. while they were doing this the mobile structure was working on reversing the flow in the cyno. After five minutes or so the flow was reversed and the fleet then cyno'ed though.

on the other side was there bridging titan and a responce fleet....you can figure out how this went.

Now, this was a dream and I know there are many problem with this idea (one of which is highsec jump freighters). Just though I would throw it out there to spur creative thought.

Summery: New mobile structure that reverses the direction of cyno's to counter attack the enemy fleet.

But a covert cyno only lasts one minute, so unless this thing has a microscopic activation timer, and carries a huge amount of it's own fuel, it would be utterly useless in the situation you are describing.

And even if it did work, so what? You use the cyno you hijacked to jump to a system that...

Well, chances are it's empty, or you're jumping your fleet onto a hostile POS.

Um... wow... really... Yeah, no.

Here's a hint, it's called a cynosural BEACON. There is nothing there for you to trace back. It's like a giant lighthouse saying "Here I am!!!"

nice idea, but.

you should be able to use say a ship scanner on a cyno to see where people came from

next you'll want safe bombing through these hijacked cynos via bridge

Use the force without consent and the court wont acquit you even if you are a card carryin', robe wearin' Jedi.

I see one problem and one exploit from this.

First, the problem that will come is when a player lights a cyno, and the group send in pilots from systems x, y, z, and q. Which path does this thing track.

The exploit. two JF pilots need to do some hauling runs, one is in low sec on their home base and the other is in Jita. Pilot in low sec drops the unit and has a friendly pilot light a cyno for the pilot in Jita. Start scanning and have the pilot jump from Jita to home then have the other JF jump through right on top of 4-4 station, effectively creating high sec cynos.

-1 from me

Their are many problem with this system. Like I had said, it's not really all the viable in the current system we have. Things like tracing back a cyno to a titan who just happens to be in a hostile pos (they normally always are), will only have you being thrown out of the pos tower when you jump though, effectively making a new pos bowling system(this was deemed an exploit by CCP) then the cyno's out of highsec that would then let cap ships back into highsec.

So once again, keep blowing holes though this. Creative thinking and counter arguments are the best way new ideas get made :)

and if they didn't all jump from the same system?

Pretty much this, the OP would have been better off with the premise of keeping the wormhole like portal open for a short period of time instead of working the angle off the cyno. With that said, I wouldn't support either version of this because I don't see it forming halfway relevant play if it was added.

Your guns end up 1 system, the rest of your ship in another system, and your pod ends up just outside of the POS with the titan in it.

Lowering the average to make you look better since 2012.
