Wormholes, ok I'm not entirely new , I've been up there a couple of times, got destroyed a few times , come back with some goodies a few times. Got trapped up there once came out in null sec with a 50 jump trip home. There seems to be a lot of predators up there and for me it is more of a fact finding mission than a commercial setup. I see a lot of towers up there so I guess some people have come to the conclusion that the duration of the wormhole isn't enough to get the task done that they intend to do. Once you are up there in WH space there are usually more wormholes so more chance of finding something interesting. It's all kind of groovy and I like discovering what is in these sites but I'm not sure it is really worth the risk and the time it takes me to scan one and send various ships up there with a low chance of coming back.

Join a wormhole to come if you want to learn more about them

I don't need twitter. I'm already following you.

I'm more of a factional warfare player, we don't as of yet have any claim to the territory in wormhole space but it's existence shouldn't be ignored.

People put towers up because there's no 'one fit ship' to get the most out of W-Space. The Stratios is competent in low class systems, but other than that you really need to have the ability to reship for the situation. Beyond a C3, there's not much you can do on your own, either.

I've seen people living out of an Orca alt, but it's not without risks, we W-Space people are a pretty cunning lot. Your Orca alt will likely be discovered sooner or later. Therefore, a tower is the best option.

The PI, if the planet selection is good, is outstanding. The gas harvesting can be ok, the combat sites are decent and the addition of nullsec Data/Relic sites to C1-C3 holes has made running a tower in one easy to afford provided you don't have too many mouths to feed.

Well I took risks more than I normally would because I wanted to see what was there and what would turn up.
So far I lost a venture to 2 stealth bombers, a venture to rats that insta poped me while gas harvesting, a probe to a tengu that warp disrupted and neuted me from over 100km away.

This was looking pretty impossible...

So I insured a Ferox and decided to kill the rats protecting a C2 data site. It took quite a while I must have warped out 10 times but I cleared it salvaged it hacked it. Got a load of strange stuff that I am not sure what it is for but apparently it is worth something.

Thats ok, you just stay in low sec and keep popping those frigates, we'll stay in wormhole space and keep popping the rattlesnakes

Not to be a buzzkill or anything, but I'm going to say that the tengu who killed you had a curse and a Lachesis with him, because I don't know any ship that can neut and point at 100km. That said, wormholes will occasionally give you the creeps. They did to me last night as I was sitting on our neighboring hole's static waiting for a certain ship to jump back through. Had 8 ships come out within a few thousand meters of our cloaked fleet. Each time clueless of the danger, and leaving me creeped out, thinking how many times I had probably done that without knowing.

Once you get over that, the logistical issues, the nominal psychosis of your corp mates, the brutality of the NPCs, and the constant vaguely lost feeling, its actually quite homey.

Feel free to message me if you ever want to talk.

Nothing's attacking you? There's a cloaky proteus with 40km of you. Sleeping in your POS? there's 2 cloaky proteuses watching your tower. Running cap sites? there's 10 cloaky proteuses ready to pounce. Get in a major fleet fight? There's 100 cloaky proteuses taking bets on who wins.

My name is Jonn Duune, and I wholeheartedly support the message posted above.

But psychotic corpmates is partly why it feels like home.

Birds of a feather and all that.

As a blob of ships I kill things bigger than rattlesnakes. On my own I don't kill that much. I'm not really cut out for WH space but my CEO is a fan of Dora the Explorer, so what can I do ?

First of all, we are not "up there", we are all around, everywhere, and specially waiting behind the new sig in that null sec you are farming in with that one neutral that just entered in some kind of covops.

Second, to see if the risk is worth it; Get a ship with a covops cloak yourself. Warp around in a few holes. See how long you you can stay on some unknowing ship, how close you can come, and get away again without him/her ever knowing. If paranoia doesn't kill you the next time you enter WH space, you may have a good time in here :)

First of all , I've never been to null sec and I went in from high sec.

Second , I have no intention of being really close to someone without them knowing I am there.
