allbeit have fun in the game but pvp with mercs is pretty frustrating

Are there others game besides EVE where people discourage other players from playing the game and from having fun? People like you are the reason why so many quit out of boredom.

Usually such a wardec ends with both parties having fun and new friendships and stuff after all this is a game. Except if you cry about every loss, then they will come back to make you cry more because we don't like bad losers in this game.

Because gettting dunked on is fun for a new player ?Worst thing a new inexperienced player can do is fight empire deccers .

This does not mean they should not try to have fun with pvp , it means they should find alternatives. If the OP and his friends stock up some fitted frigs in FW space using courier contracts they could clone there during a war dec.Wich would get ridd of the wardeccer after a week as there is a VERRY small chance the deccer will enter low-sec and in the meantime these bears can learn some solo and smallscale pvp in cheap throwaway ships. After the decc is done they can decide to either go back to their mining or pve crap or stick around FW space if they find it fun.

As a new player just under 2 years ago I got dunked by highsec mercs. My quest for vengeance is what got me into the game

so your vengeance involves you becoming a merc and joining the biggest merc alliance around? not really in the same league as an industry player who wants to just do other things and not really fight.

however i see this alot, mercs who tell potential customers to go and fight wars themselves, arent you suppose to be a business, turning away customers by telling them to fight themselves cant be good for business

shame you guys never leave highsec/undock to fight your targets

Yeah I suppose any t1 cruiser fit with cargo expanders would indeed get dunked. I gotta say tho that is defiantly the most innovative way to haul an assault frig I've seen under a wardec

I talked to him on comms. He thought the cargo expanders were bulkheads. He was trying to hull tank but grabbed the wrong module. I think this is a mistake we've all made on multiple occaisions.

The real problem here is that expanded cargo holds and re-inforced bulkheads are both binned under hull upgrades. If expanded cargo holds were moved from Hull Upgrades to Engineering Equipment this common error would be removed from the game. It's a total setup - the loss should probably be petitioned.

I think the point is: It got him INVOLVED in the game, and in PVP in general.

I had an industry character for the last 5 years, NEVER happened to me, because, youy know, CARGO EXPANDER is kinda self-explaining.

Indeed.

I once bought a 300m Rifter, because it had too many zeros at the end of the sell order, and that my Mouse Clicking skill (L5) was faster than my Reading skill (L4). Totally the fault of the game and I should get a refund too.

some people have no interest in fighting in eve and why bother fighting against a pvp alliance specialised in highsec warfare when your specialised in building ships.

be aswell telling your local bus driver to go and race a f1 driver, hey you might put up a good fight and learn something that doesnt interest you at all vOv

I specialized in building ships for a long time. I used to print out merlins and kestrels quite literally 30 at a time.
I was that awesome.
I even went completely apeshit on invention and research, resulting in more t2 bpc's than I could ever possibly produce on my own.
My POS was the most awesome POS in Vasala, because it was freaking MINE. and it was all laboratory like... it enabled my inner mad scientist.

Then I got bored. It was like a job that I went to after I got home from my real job. Stare at the rocks. mine the rocks. pretend the rocks aren't whispering to you. pretend you don't understand what they say. pretend that you don't agree that you should save others from this living hell by exploding them. don't pick up the gun...

Someone from the dark side contacted me. I was offered cookies. I picked up the gun.
I now love this game again.

Come hell or high water, this sick world will know I was here.

Yeah, I also owned my owm indy corp and POS, it was awesome.

One day a corpmate got can flipped and lost his Orca. We were climbing walls and I even got a kill out of those frigs with my PVE Cyclone. It was awesome too.

Then I tried the can flipping too. It became awesomer, and I eventually shut down the POS. Twisted

TLDR Noragen was once a decced newbro that fought back and joined mercs eventually

My vengeance involved training some PvP skills and fleeting up on every eve uni anti wartarget fleet we had. I would never be found outside of the home defense fleet during wartime and would always respond to calls for help. Pretty soon I had my first PvP cruiser (thorax) with some support skills and a t2 armor tank. I started bringing my pride and joy on the fleets and we hunted the merc in their own environment (stations pipes wherever our locates spat them out at). in my third and fourth months in the uni I was rewarded with the eve uni silver cross handed out to the top 10 anti wartarget participants. Also in my third month I scored my first solo kill against a dreaded Marmite who by this time I was aware of just how broadly traveled they were. I spotted him with the first alt I ever made heading towards hek from uedama/dodixie way. I burnt my thorax 3 jumps outta Hek to have a crack at him in his hawk. Home defense had begun to form up a small gang to come to my rescue should i get tackle but were slow and were not ready when he landed on grid with me. after a breif moment of staring at each other he engaged me and I asked my FC (who was still forming) what to do. Do i jump back or do I engage? She said it's your ship you make the call we will bring the few ships we have to back you up just make the call. I called that I was tackling and whoever was ready began to burn my way. I applied my dual webs, scram, drones and blasters while hitting keep at range of 4km (a trick that Leo had taught me for engaging smaller targets) and turned on my ab. The second I agressed the hawk went from 1 launcher to all of them and both our HP's began to dwindle. Mine seemed much faster at first but as his shields went so to did his armor and structure in short fashion. As this was all happening Leo's voice came on coms saying I am jumping in now how are you holding up. A moment later he said Nah you got this it's a good kill I'll wait for the pod and let me finish off the hawk as I was in 1/4 armor and it was dead. With a exilarating pop it blew up and the pod warped. I was so excited I left my drones behind despite waiting out the timer and having a minute to pull them back in. My first solo kill. It was a memory I will hold onto forever in this game even now it still gives me a rush to remember it.

Did I mention this was against a High Sec wardeccer? After this I knew I had found my passion in this game. There were many other reasons I enjoyed it like the Intel gathering (when done right it's quite rewarding), the meta gaming (nothing quite like getting somebody to ask about whats wrong with their PvE fit because they are having trouble with certain missions utilizing non secure channels). After a long period of lack of any wars with the big groups I started the process to join a small corp we had been dunking that decced us and joined them just as they joined Marmite. A few weeks later they all dissappeared never to be heard from ever again and after a month were getting kicked from the alliance and I got several invites from other corps to join theirs.

All that came from fighting highsec mercs on stations, gates and baiting/responding in missions or other areas. With the right encouragement a NewBro in this game can beat and even be one of these guys (because they are just players like anybody else they are normally just better prepared)

Lets just look at the differences between the high sec and nullsec blobs.
High sec:
1. Possible reps you dont know about
2. Possible Scout
3. Likely 5-10 players at most unless bashing
Nullsec:
1. Cynos/BLOPs
2. Capitals
3. Roaming parties/gate camps of 30-40 common
4. Likely fleet follows the magic ratio of 1 rep ship for ever 3-4 dps boats.
5. Falcon/BB (They just seem more common in null)

I would actually argue that there is much more room for 'blob' in nullsec.
So the fact you got blobbed in hisec so went back to nullsec is a little priceless

The problem a lot of people have with highsec fights (and I do mean the actualy fights not the pve boat ganking that is the bread and butter like other people do lvl 5's or incursions or smartbomb whatever that site in nullsec is) is that it requires too much individual performance. There is no room for lazy people in a small fleet on fleet engagement and most people can not be assed hiding their reinforcements. It's different combat then what you would expect and people fail to adapt so they just die. not tipping your hand is quite often 3/4 of the fight because if you reveal what you have the enemy will reship to counter or realize they can't take that fight and avoid it.

The day the lowsec and nulsec blocs learn to properly bait the highsec wardeccers is the day they will stop getting decced for easy kills and get moved to the list of fun fights that only 1-2 are ever active at a time.

This exactly. Give this man all the medals.
In addition to having a necessary higher performance level from each one of your people there is also the meta. The developed pre fight hisec meta is much more complicated and is often times much more important than the actual fight itself.
