There is nothing unethical/amoral about podding someone in EVE Online - especially if you are at war with each other. Obviously if it is tactically or strategically advantageous to pod someone then do it.

However, if the other guy isn't a jerk and gives a gf I would give them a few seconds before trying to pod them.

OR you could put a point on them and ransom them Twisted

Fly only what you can afford to lose...including implants.

I will ALWAYS go for the pod (and expect the same in return).

My only exception - an agreed to, arranged 1v1.

1: Information denial. A pod still has vision of the grid, or alternatively a scanner, with which to report to friends.

2: Make it hurt as much as possible. Pod the guy, and no implants are no big deal. Big implants are big lols.

3: Send him on his way so that he has to reship, hopefully far away. If he lives next door, he wastes time reupping his clone (if hes smart). Not a lot of time, but every little bit can count.

4: Demoralize them. This isn't an issue which longer lived characters / players, but when a dozen rookies come for you and your gang and every kill gets podded ASAP, the next the guy may or may decide it isn't worth it.

5: In my opinion, any one worth killing is worth killing completely.

Pod them kill them all. The more you cost them the more you slow them down. Take what you can give nothing back. Loot the wreck pop it if you cant carry it. Show them no mercy once they get away you can have a nice respectful chat but make no mistake I will kill you.

What, you guys don't keep a corpse collection? Twisted

But seriously, I pod to keep the enemy off the field and to hurt then financially. Just the way things are on the battlefield. I also except the same fully.

I agree on multiple points in multiple posts:
1) Warp in for a bigger ship or ships
2) Still has eyes and can provide intel to friends
3) And personally I usually fly in a Drake or BS and if you can't get your pod out before I target you then see ya in 2 hours when you reship.

Thats my 2 cents

The only time I'm not trying to go for someone's pod is in a fleet fight where there are still people in ships that need to be shot at. I live in wspace though so podding someone means one person that can't bring in a replacement ships(at least not in a reasonable timeframe)

I usually go for the pod unless it's an agreed upon 1v1. I expect everyone to try to pod me, so I like to return the favor. Also, ransom.

I also think that podding a newb will teach them a good lesson. Personally, I was podded on my first adventure into low sec in my destroyer that I couldn't even fit properly. It taught me to stay out of low sec until I knew what I was doing and taught me to respect low sec when I did eventually come back. Pirate

I don´t get why podding should slow someone up, isn´t it the other way round?

Instead of forcing someone to travel back to to his home station to reship, possibly across several systems, podding would actually safe time.

Meh, it's no big deal. If you can lock them then shoot them. If you undock you are already dead so don't let it bother you.

Sweetest part of PvP is pod-killing Evil

Not doing it is like having sex without orgasm.
