Hello folks,

Today we are deploying to Singularity a build that includes a number of changes we have made to how item types work in the game.

These are all backend changes and you should not notice any changes to EVE in general. However due to the nature of this work there is a chance that some areas might be broken and we will work to fix these as soon as possible.

We will keep this build on Singularity for about a week and half with a mass test being planned currently for the 11th June.

If you do experience anything you think is a bug please report it through the F12 menu and attach pictures if possible.

If you have any questions please post them here and I will try and answer them for you.

Known Issues:
1. Right-clicking on an agent does not work.
2. Bunch of stuff around fleets, right-clicking fleet members, leaving fleet once joined.

For those interested, this build contains a big step forward in our migration of game data from BSD (Branched Static Data, stored in database tables on a central content server) into what we call FSD (File Static Data, stored in plain text YAML files).

In particular this covers the definitions of types, groups and categories in EVE and doing this required modifying around ~700 python source code files to update how we consume this data. Therefore we now need to test these changes on Singularity.

So why are we going to all this effort? Mostly to improve how we develop and test EVE Online, inline with our strategy to release more independent changes and release them more often, and that means faster updates for you guys.

Good changes, considering the fact that TQ is currently unplayable.

Is it a more working build for the brain in a box thing?

Sounds nice to me and if you brake stuff on SiSi to do it, so be it. We are not supposed to have a guarrantied playserver anyway. I say brake the things and we will benefit later.

Eve Minions is recruiting.

99 little bugs in the code, 99 little bugs in the code.
Fix one out, patch it around.
117 little bugs in the code.

No, this is totally separate from Brain in a Box.

Given the above I'm guessing that they are low slot items and will follow a similar set of fittings to other Tracking Enhancers?

To ask this in time: Does this mean that next SDE will already have the affected areas (invTypes, invGroups, invCategories, ...?) moved to *.yaml files?

If that's the case, allow me a while to run around in circles, screaming (and throwing coins into a wishing well, to make it happen that Desmont adds those to his tool for import back into the SQL).
