I know your just playing lol mining is just my stepping stone, usually have to level a toon to 80/90 to get to the good stuff anyway hehehe I'm just trying to make it more exciting and thinking outside the box =) and i really don't know what the hell I'm doing or the fits, so you guys are really helpful =)

Think about ganking, i mean grab a catalyst and roam arround in search of miners you will see a lot of " fauq ima outta here" tactics but there would be a few good examples you might use for yourself.

I agree with Tiddle's advice, understanding how to gank is very advantageous to protecting yourself or others from being ganked.

Will echo the above bits about blackbirds and griffins. They're cheap and they work. The blackbird has lots of mid slots so you can either pack a variety of jams or a rack of one and perhaps a sensor booster for faster locks.
Fiddle with the two for a bit and find something that you think will work. If it doesn't, fiddle some more :)

As far as the procs go, if you're going to be mining in the same area a lot you might want to also set up a few safe spots in the system and keep the group aligned towards them when they mine. And I mean really aligned, not just 'pointed that way'. If you use Higgs rigs you can slow their max velocity down immensely and make it so they can warp out pretty fast.

Using the tank advice others have given added with nasty bodyguards, a keen eye on local, and excessive use of directional scan you should be fine.

If you do manage to stop a gank, or even if you don't, make sure to chat up the gankers. Odds are good they'll talk to you, and who knows, they might even let you fly on a ganking run with them.

Come hell or high water, this sick world will know I was here.
