Pirate faction T3 ccruiers.

Well as the title suggests, I think Pirate faction T3 cruisers are over due. Have to have trained to be able to fly the T3 for the 2 races you need to fly it. Hulls and subs cost about twice as much and when you get popped in one, you lose 2 random sub skills instead of just one. One from each factions subs you would need of trained for it. Better ship, but also costs more and more potential SP to lose.

As far as I know most people find the T3 cruisers OP already, Pirate ones would be hellish OP in that case!

How would this help contribute to the overall gameplay?

Also lorewise, Angel ships is already (rumoured) partly taken from Jove design.

New more functional ships, like ECM bonus on a proteus, web bonus on a tengu. New ships for the more vet players, get more mix and match function in them that you want. Can help open up a new market for T3 manufacturers. Not really have to do more DPS or more tank, just more cross functionality.

Why?

Also, how would the pirates even invent T3 stuff? They're not empires. Fluff-wise, only Sansha would be capable. Maybe.

I think enough T3's have been out and destroyed for years that they had more then ample oppurntunity to get ahold of the tech and improve on it for their own purposes. Its what they do, they take current tech and change it to suit their own needs.

Why? As in "what niche do they fill?" "What role do they play?" "How do you balance them so that they do not obsolete existing ships?"

CCP should add more NPC 0.0 space to open it up and liven things up: the Stepping Stones project.

Why not? Why is it whenever someone mentions about something new its always, why do we need it, whats wrong with what we have. Nothing ever gets improved that way. But I think having more options of what subs you can and do put on your ship, more mix and match a lot of people will like.

This dosn't add anything to the existing gameplay in my mind, we have plenty of ships that fill every role a T3 does as is. Nothing about making pirate ones makes them unique, just OP until they get nerfed.

I have suggested individual subsystems that are pirate designed in previous iterations of this thread. They would be hard to balance, but doable, and if it was one or 2 subsystems per pirate faction, it is a conceivable that they would manage to create such things (Serpentis web systems that go on a loki or proteus, and give a 5%/lvl to range and strength would be very stronk but rare and costly)
Entire pirate t3 ships would be ridiculously overpowered if you gave them a similar design philosophy to regular t3s. Maybe, maybe as an AT prize letting you mix and match subsystems from 2 different t3s, but faction t2 is already reserved for AT or other CCP run tournament prizes, and so I would think that faction t3s are even more so.

We need balance and improvements to the existing game. (Actually we need a brand new game, from scratch, but nobody agrees with me there.)

The LAST thing we need is more new T3 ships!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We should actually remove (or severely nerf) the T3s we already have.

What role do they fill? Cool is not a role. Expensive is not a role. That's how we got Supercapitals. Come up with a role.

We have a ton of cruiser hulls in this game. If you are going to cram in another half dozen cruisers, they better have a role. A role that doesn't obsolete existing ships.

You are the one who suggested the half-baked idea. It's incumbent on you to come up with more than just the same bare bones "wouldn't it be cool if..." idea as a few hundred other folks before you.

T3 need to be fixed before we get more, CCP has been 'trying' to balance them out for a while now.


Asides from that what do you think Pirate faction T3's can be used for? What Role would they fill? Other then you want new ships?

Have to agree. I would love to see some ship usage metrics, as its painfully obvious that, out of hundreds of ships, maybe 20, 25 or so are relevant these days and would be grossly overrepresented, as opposed to the ships no one even bothers flying.

It's also sort of a shame Gorski Car didn't make CSM. I would love to have someone with his expertise on the CSM.

Not only a bad idea, but NO MORE CRUISERS ONLINE!

CCP needs to focus on balancing what we have, then filling in what's missing/needs improvement. T3 pirate cruisers does not even make that list. I mean holy ****, the last thing this game needs are more ships under the size of a battleship at this point. CCP needs to give the newer players something to shoot for again, not handing everything to them at a frigate/cruiser level!
