Tenacious Miners seek Mercenary Assistance

Caged paced the floor of his captain's quarters, waiting for the ensuing brainstorm to take the place of his overly shot nerves and frustration. He'd been placed in charge of seeking help for his family, and shoving apprehensive thoughts aside, steeled himself against this task.

Fellow capsuleers. o7

I'll try to keep this relatively short and sweet, but being as I've found little help within the short time I've searched, I've taken this further step, hoping someone could either point us in the right direction, or help us find a solution to our problem.

Our tiny corp, barely a month since it's founding, has been wardeced. I'll be completely upfront and say that we have no pvp skills or experience. We do enjoy the industrial side of Eve, and since we don't have the skills or knowledge needed to properly defend our corp/members, we're seeking help outside of our group.

I've been looking into mercenary organizations in Eve, and it looks like that is exactly the kind of help we need. I don't however know how to proceed, and everyone I've tried to contact so far has either been busy, or not online. If this cannot come to a solution soon, we may as well pack it up and rent out space in a nullsec Alliance. If anyone has suggestions, or wants to arrange a contract to help us out, please contact me.

Sincerely - Tenacious Mining Family.

It needs to be said, so... How can you call yourself "Caged Wrath: Weapon X - Enforcer" and yet have, as you said yourself "no pvp skills or experience"?!?!?!?!?

Well, I applaud you for wanting to leave highsec. It is a silly place. But serious question, what exactly are these wartargets doing that is keeping you from doing anything?

Since the cessation of their usefulness is imminent, may I appropriate your belongings?

Whoa. Whoa. Whoa. You got double podded by a t3??? AFK miners detected quick somebody get a codie in here

Edit Ok evekill is terrible. I see on zkill that there were ceptors too. I apologize. I light of this have you considered moving to a highsec island and utilizing a scout a jump out so you can see your enemy coming?

Slight oversight, I'm guessing. I'll quickly change it to "Caged Wrath: 0 PvP SP please Kill Me now".

I can see posting here was a mistake.
Excuse me for wasting all your time.

In the meantime. Solution is being worked on.

There is no reason to not be keeping an eye on local and keeping yourself aligned during a wardec.

Keeping an eye on local 1 system out is also a good practice, even if that person is in station.

Looking at your opponents killboards constantly can give you an idea were they are, their favorite hunting grounds, their ships of choice, their times of operation, potential fits, etc. Run locators on their top PvPers all the time.

Don't go AFK.

There are literally tons of things you can do yourself, for free, that will minimize the risk associated with a wardec far more than mercs. All it takes is a little effort and attentiveness on your part.

Since the cessation of their usefulness is imminent, may I appropriate your belongings?

They were aligned, and they were not afk. They DID see them coming in local and DID get away the first time.

The second time, when they got killed/podded, they were midwarp when they came into local. All they could do was ride the wave all the way to their doom, unfortunately.

We play how we want, and they play how they want. We are not bitching and whining, merely using the only method available to us to fight back.

eh as far as merc assistance goes I recommend Marmite to make their lives hard, POH to hunt them down, Devils cause they are just awesome, BAW if BAW are actually active atm, and PIRAT if you speak russian. My top 5 merc pic. I apologize to any and all mercs that didn't make it here but this is based on people I have fought.

Look, there are basically two options here:

1) You can give your ISK to a "mercenary" so they can buy shiny new ships to blow up stuff and enjoy the game. I am sure they will be happy to take your ISK, I doubt however that they will guard you while you are AFK mining or hauling stuff in Highsec.

2) You can sit together with your corp mates and read up on how EVE actually works. Inform yourself what you can do with your friends, try to create a strategy to defend yourself. I am sure there are many players in many places who will help you with this and give you advise. Don't get me wrong, you will probably not win, you will all die horribly. But it was never cheaper to put together a nice little t1 fleet which actually has a chance. And you will learn from the experience and become better and die again in spaceship battle. You will actually get something for your ISK because it will be a lot of fun, even if you lose, I promise.

Least he is seeking solution to his problem instead of just rolling over and disbanding the corp. Better than what most new high sec Indy corps do.

I say take the fight. Use the wardec as a learning experience.

Even though you have stated that your mostly industrial focused, you may find the pulse quickening adrenaline rush from PvP intoxicating.

Anyone can be effective as long as they fly correctly. No, a t3 isn't going to lose to a frig.

But a t3 will lose to a frig and a blackbird...

Mail me in game if your interested, and I'll go over some fits and skill training that's will let you be fighting in a day or so. Pro bono.

This. If you go down this road and have a crack at it depending on time zones I'm always down to use an ALT to take a fleet out a few times against the evil wardecccers

This is bad advice. Fight them. Get roflstomped. Learn from it, adapt, and get stronger.

Yes.

Also:

1- Say you mine in Barkrik (bad place to mine btw), get another barge on the other side of Empire, say deeeep in Khanid space, get Jump Clones.

You see them in Local: dock up, jump clone, mine again.

Only very persistent players will make another 35 jumps to get you where you are now. Especially to get t1 barges.

And:

2- Mine in a very dead end system, with belts faaaar from the in-gate. Keep a scout in way in to see them coming.

Only the VERY dedicated will design ways to get you. Especially to get t1 barges.

Or:

3- Hire Forsaken Asylum.

Failing that, open your war to any free assist, I'm sure someone will pick it up, and maybe, just maybe, give a hard time to your wardeccers.

'If they take the ship, they'll rape us to death, eat our flesh, and sew our skins onto their clothing. And if we're very, very lucky, they'll do it in that order.'

Yeah, we're like that.

Because I tell then to play the game and have fun? I mean it's not like they lose something. T1 ships are cheap and you can do something interesting for a change.

I write this because this is what happened to me. I was in a carebear corp for two weeks, it was boring, nothing happened. Then we got deced by some "bad guys" and the fun started. We always lost, but I learned a lot and it was the first time it felt like what I call EVE today. It was simply exciting and new and felt like a game not a mining simulator.

This irritates me. You don't need mercs, you need balls. Tiny ones will do, just find them.

How many of you are there?

Bait them. Get 6 or 7 guys in T1 cruisers logged off in a belt near where they base out of and get a bait procurer to sit there all night, looking all virginal. You may lose a few ships, but you'll have fun and if you get a kill you can smack like beetches. Don't make it too obvious, obviously.

You'll be surprised how much you change when you've tasted blood. You may find that you all love pew so much that you have a ritual barge burning, self flagellate and turn into badasses.

Now, wouldn't that be fun? Imagine the brotherly love and good vibes there'll be on comms when you're all talking about your victim crying into his stale pizza and mountain dew.

Enjoy planning your sting, it's all part of the fun. Look at their killboards and check what they primarily fly. Get a scout to shadow their fleet so you have up to date intel. Fit accordingly.

It's delicious. Nothing beats it. Except cake.

Of course you could also all die horribly, but hey, you'll have had a shizload of giggles.
