It's been a long time running but I realized that after nearly 8 years, and a lot of time sunk into the game for next to nothing in the end, I've decided to biomass my character.

The tiredness of paying a subscription to a game that should've been made free to play a long time ago.

The tiredness of the ever increasing grind for isk and downright forcing to create alt accounts to afford to live by and play decently in this game without making it feel like a second RL job.

Im tired of this game, and tired of myself battling with it to be able to afford to play in it, tired of all the bullshit mechanics inside, tired of the same old cunts who end up disappointed that I would not want to listen to them blabble about their innate and sociopathic lives on teamspeak.

Just tired overall, and especially when I realize this game taught me literally nothing of use when I compare my successes irl to those in this game. Zero.

And especially tired of reading the all-too common "wife-aggro brb" on chat, as a perfect example of the rampant idiocy I've been a part of all those years ...

Eve was a fun game while it lasted, but no more since quite a while ago. Most of us refuse to see it though, and all too busy being bored out of our ******* minds.

So long.

If it took you eight years to figure that out, you might belong here more than you realize.

I'll be willing to discuss giving your stuff back if when you decide to return.

Verlyn, people that go that route usually just turn into forum dwellers. Anyway, o7

Why can't people just say 'bye guys, thanks for all the fun, I don't feel like playing anymore. Have fun, maybe I'll be back someday, until then o7'.

F*ing drama queens.

Make space glamorous! Is EVE dying or not? Ask the EVE-O Death-o-meter!

Nobody actually quits EVE. Some people just show up less and less, some lurk the forums, some keep playing until they die, and then you have the drama queens who want to tell you how much they are quitting! Maybe they just want out.

They'll never get out. It's like smoking.

pretty much. or they still check eve news from time to time. See it all the time on eve's facebook page, people saying 'i quit xx years ago.. if they fix this i'll be back' lol

funny thing is most of these complaints are like wha? The isk grind is.. non existent. i can make lots of isk in a single day, i just don;t play that way. never get why people whine about not having enough isk.

OMG Comet Mining idea!!! Comet Mining!

I've done that. Planned break anyway, too busy with a lot of time away from my gaming computer. Planned 3-6mo's, but got a new ISP that turned out to be huge fail, drops and all that. So six turned into 9 when I finally got a new ISP that works. So no biggy, one left, another returns (been back for a bit). Had nothing to do with boredom or game lothing. Said I'd be back and I did... or taken as a threat watevah.

Btw OP, the only thing worse than a broken ISP, IS any f2p game. Luk with that...

I'm in it for the money

The game is just an escape from reality, into a much different one. Some people do drugs, watch TV, go bungee-jumping. Of course, one can combine all other escapes from reality and play EVE as well, but EVE ain't bad as an escape. I like risk, giant space lasers, and starships. Not going to get that many other places in a persistent setting.

They can't say that, because:

A- They aren't really leaving (people who leave do so quietly)

And

B- The real reason for the post is to gain sympathy/see who else feels the same way and maybe to get someone with power to change things to suit them more.

Is it the game's fault that you spent eight years hanging out with people you don't like? Huh.

Also, I believe you meant "inane."

This is why I play MMOs, to fast forward through this boring human existance.

CCP - Building ant hills and magnifying glasses for fat kids

Not even once

EVE is becoming shallow and puerile; it will satisfy neither the veteran nor the "WoW" type crowd in the transition.

its because they suck, so when they switch to F2P fan bois tend to fork out more money then subs would make, so the crappy games stay a float as oppose to die a death they should of. =D

Unless they are desined to be F2P from the start, ala Guild Wars.

Quite honestly, GW2 sux too, outside of WvW anyway. It's actually a B2P, or suppose to be. All F2P's are scams, and they sacrifice actual fun factor design onto the alter of the cash cow to the few stupid enough to compulsively spend $1000's in the item shops until financially ruined. It's all a cold and calculating marketing science.
