I fight boredom in a video game by turning off then uninstalling said game. In EVE is I start to feel even an inkling of boredom i remember I'm playing a video game where most things can explode, and explode more things.

Embrace the boredom, avoid excitements and make it like a constant low grade depression then you will stop noticing it.

Best way I've found, is playing other games during those often slow times. Cures most of the boredome.
