I got a mouse and keyboards attached to my PS4 so there should not be any issues with the controls, as the PS4 is a PC anyway I guess doing a client should be not too difficult either.

Because this is pointless?
CCP will need to make different client from scratch to run on the console architecture.
CCP will need to negotiate access to PS4 network , and pay for it.
CCP will need to share income they get from each player using PS4 version.
CCP will be limited by PS4 architecture, and what this console can do for a very , very long time.
CCP will need to have separate team , that will just recode all changes to PS4, and separate group of people to test if those changes where done correctly.
All this for few people that bought PS4 for some strange reason instead of investing this $ into PC.

Also, any patches and updates that they would want to implement would have to go through Sony before it could go over the PSN, which means that we would have to wait till it was checked and OKed before we could get any updates through to the PC side since everyone has to be on the same version to be able to play together.

If you want to interact with EVE on the PS4, play DUST.

**edit**
Another point. Just because you can have a mouse/keyboard for the PS4 doesn't mean that everyone does, most people who play on a console will expect to be able to use a controller. This means that they will have to set up the UI to be able to be used with a controller, and I'm not sure what that would take and I shudder to think of how annoying it would be to try and play EVE with one.

LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL.

Thank you for making it painfully obvious you do not have a clue what you are talking about.

Eve is like an addiction; you can't quit it until it quits you. Also, iderno

thats pretty shortsighted of you, valkyrie comes out for ps4 so is dust, with an eve client you could attract lots of ps4 gamers to the core game... you write a lot about things you don't understand it seems, a ps4 is basically a pc you know

The problem is not if the PS4 can run it. It lies in the fact that PS4 is NOT a PC or a Mac. Linux isnt "officially" supported and it is on the same coding path as a Mac. They would have to not only port to the PS4 but also run an extra layer of compatibility for every patch.

And Dust does not directly influence eve, they use a proxy to negotiate inter-game interactions.

Eve would take up about 1/10 of the PS4 HDD.

Not to mention that CCP would have to pay to have server access, and pay to distribute updates.

For the sake of argument, why not be able to run eve on smartphones and tablets, they can handle the load too; Eve was designed to be run on a toaster.

Okay. A PS4 is basically a computer. So is an Atari. But, without rejecting the premise for sheer absurdity. A PS4 is basically a computer:

With locked hardware. Which is optimized for graphics processing and twitch response times.
And no native python compiler, meaning now we need to put in a wrapper to translate everything, as though it was in a VM.
And proprietary drivers, so now we need single purpose interfaces with the proprietary drivers.
And a locked operating system which locks the network down fairly tightly.
And in this locked network, you cannot release patches at will, they are all at the mercy of Sony.
Because of how eve works, any significant desynchronization of core operating bits would create massively more server overhead, meaning TiDi everywhere.
Because of how eve is patched and the turn around time involved there would be days where PS4 users are locked entirely out of EVE, or cause TIDI wherever they go.

There is an unofficial wrapper to play EVE on android.
Or you can use teamviewer to remote into the real computer of your choice to play that way.

its funny, I don't search for non supporters here, so your comment is sensless... why do you guys always search for threads where you disagree and explain in long comments why? ...I'm searching for people to make it happen and come up with ideas to make it happen, no sayer can leave... do you act like this in real life as well? telling people with ideas what is not possible and why... you guys sure come far in life, its really amusing
