HAG V and Fits?

Greetings fellow Goo-Floaters of EVE, HAG is supposed to be a fact at some point and lately there have been a few "buff the Barge" posts (something I gave up on saying a while ago)... The new BCs and DDs are out... and a good time should be had by all...

SO!... what fits are out there for these new BCs and DDs for the Alpha Striking Ganking that is coming... I know the Thrasher is a big win for this event (people are heating up the BPO's and getting ready to mass produce that little ship) so lets see what the community has to work with.

Post your HAGV fits for the community to see if you dare to expose that secret fitting... though I think they are always pretty cookie cutter... My fav so far is the All-Gank Thrasher (T2 all the way weaps and upgrades, and rigs all to projectiles and toss in a rocket launcher with rage for measure.

Also the Naga seems to have a very nice alpha, with Neutron IIs... I heard that this ship can literally park between two hulks, split it's fire and blow up two hulks in one barrage.

Would personally love to see some DD fits and then whatever as I think the DDs are going to be the gankship of choice for this event.

Um. Did you just say that a 100m isk frigate is going to be the gank ship of choice? I'd have expected void catalysts or something instead.

I'm not a participant in HAG, so I may not have all of the "facts" straight, but I thought the idea was to try and come out ahead on the ISK lost versus ISK destroyed? If so, I'd think a Naga would be a poor choice for this.

And a pirate frigate, as Liang said, even poorer.

This one time, I like, totally did some stuff.

o.O!!!! Frigate? er... Pirate... Frigate.... no I mean the Thrasher... the Minnie Destroyer... *facepalms* ... *then double facepalms*

There are 4 Destoyers none of them cost 100M ISK... about 100K maybe.. not 100M... *cough cough*

The Thrasher "Trasher" Fit is as follows:

Thrasher - 200mm/Point

Gyrostabilizer II
Gyrostabilizer II

1MN MicroWarpdrive II

Now on the ISK thing:

Thrasher v. Hulk?
Naga v. Orca? (even a Hulk or two, I heard you can solo two in one volley so that is about 100M v 400M for that orca or 250M for the Hulks

The people that use BB when talking about Battleships instead of BS also often use the naval term DD for talking about destroyers, not the most common slang in eve but it is not as unheard of as you all are making it out to be.

I've been whoring this forum for 5 years and I don't think I've ever heard anyone refer to a destroyer as a DD. Furthermore, it was about right considering the T2 fittings and expensive T2 fit BCs.

Basically: its a trollpoast.

-Liang

Ed: I admit its possible that nobody has referred to the destroyer as a DD simply because there haven't been many threads about them. Even still, I can count the number of people that have gone all "BB" on me on one hand.

Yes there is definitely a troll here... *ahem*... DD, is a common term destroyers, and since I am a military vet I use military terms - deal with it.

Laing you seem to have nothing to add to this post, yet you seem to like to troll it... was the last HAG a tearful experience for you? you fit the "uMad" type I think here that is "are you mad" for you if you are not up on your chat slang.

Really, I feel I had no choice but to assume you were a troll considering all the talk of T2 mods, Nagas, and the implied suggestion of using DDs for suicide ganking. I figured it was more likely that you were trolling than that you'd get everything so catastrophically wrong.

But in case you're just a ******* moron, I suggest you use a blockade runner as your warp in and loot scooper, and T1 fit catalysts.

Your kind of a **** aren't you??... oh well, some light reading for you:

**USN Ship Designations**
Warships in the United States Navy were first designated and numbered in system originating in 1895. Under this system, ships were designated as "Battleship X", "Cruiser X", "Destroyer X", "Torpedo Boat X" and so forth where X was the series hull number as authorized by the US Congress. These designations were usually abbreviated as "B-1", "C-1", "D-1", "TB-1," etc. This system became cumbersome by 1920, as many new ship types had been developed during World War I that needed new categories assigned, especially in the Auxiliary ship area. On 17 July 1920, the designation system was revised so that all ships were now designated with a two letter code and a hull number, with the first letter being the ship type and the second letter being the sub-type. For example, the destroyer tender USS Melville, first commissioned as "Destroyer Tender No. 2" in 1915, was now re-designated as "AD-2" with the "A" standing for Auxiliary, the "D" for Destroyer (Tender) and the "2" meaning the second ship in that series. Ship types that did not have a subclassification simply repeated the first letter. So, Battleships became "BB-X" and Destroyers became "DD-X" with X being the same number as previously assigned. Ships that changed classifications were given new hull numbers within their new designation series.

The designation "USS" standing for "United States Ship" was adopted in 1907. Prior to that time, no designation was used in official documents.

It should be noted that in the United States Navy, unlike European Navies, the first ship in a class to be authorized by the US Congress is the designated class leader (class name ship), regardless of the order in which the ships of that class are laid down, launched or commissioned. For example, contrary to many European texts, for the last class of "Standard" battleships, the battleship USS Colorado BB-45 (commissioned 30 August 1923) is the class leader under USN designation standards, not USS Maryland BB-46 (commissioned 21 July 1921). These battleships are thus properly designated as being "USS Colorado BB-45 Class" and not as "USS Maryland BB-46 Class." This list includes current US Ship designations - US Navy, Coast Guard, and Army.

Designations in italics are no longer carried by active ships, but are commonly seen nonetheless.

Prefixes
USS = United States Ship (Naval vessel manned by military personnel)
USNS = United States Naval Ship (Vessel manned by civilian crew)
USCGC = United States Coast Guard Cutter
MTS = Moored Training Ship (ex SSBNs converted to training hulks)

Non self propelled craft are marked with an asterisk (*)

I think the problem is you cannot read english... and you assume (yes you did make and ass of yourself there) that DD was a daredevil to all, but not so... DD often is Destroyer in my part of EVE and DareDevil is DareDevil, you assume too much clearly.

Also where I come from BS = Bull ****, which is what you are slinging...and bucket loads of it.

If you don't like the post, you obviously felt the need to post and put in the time for it, so obviously you took the time to put in to this trolling of my thread. So it's on you, not one is forcing you to post here and so it's pretty obvious who is putting in the crap on this thread.

learn to read, then learn to think, then try typing in that order, then re-read what you read and what you wrote and maybe, just maybe you can not stick your foot in it.

More Shiptoasting! Awesome! So you come into the thread and seemingly forget that concord no longer pays insurance, then you suggest T2 fits, and then get all pissy when multiple people think you are discussing suicide ganking in a daredevil. Hell man - given the gaffes in your OP I had no choice but to assume you were the biggest moron on the interwebz or a massive carebear troll.

We don't give two ***** about your military nomenclature, this is EVE... not the Navy. We also don't care what you do or have done outside EVE as it has zero impact on what you do here, in fact if your behaviour and thick headedness is any indication I'd say you're pretty much an idiot IRL as well. DD in EVE stands for either DoomsDay or, in this obvious case, DareDevil. Your understanding of the subject you chose for this thread is below par at best and you choose to **** it up even more by trying to save ego by being belligerent and annoying.

Stop posting as it makes you look more stupid every time you do it.

I've never seen "DD" used in reference to a destroyer in EVE Online; the slang term I've seen most often is "dessie."

I'm also used to "BB" being a reference to the Blackbird, in EVE Online context.

As to the 100M Naga vs 250M Orca, that still seems a waste of a T3 BC hull. Can't an arty gank cane do it for less? (This is an honest question, not intended to be a troll.)

Aurelius, it is great that you know proper naval designations, but this is a game that has its own set of slang and jargon. It would be good for you to learn the eve terms to avoid confusion in the future and not attack the people who misunderstand you for your improper use of game terminology.

Everyone else try to be forgiving and move on from this.

I am with Liang about use of tech2 mods for suicide ships but with a recovery ship about half of the mods will be recoverable so it wouldn't be the end of the world.

I name my Destroyers DD-101 then increase the number as I buy more. DD-102 ECT. Battleships are BB-101, Frigates are FF-101. I even use some of my own not following the Navy Rank like Battlecruisers are HC-101 or Heavy Cruiser.

You know what I think when someone writes DD or BB in chat or on the forums. Daredevil / Doomsday and Blackbird.

They are the General excepted EVE Terms period. If you have found some EVE Subculture that thinks differently great for you don't expect the public to understand it when you post on a general EVE Forum.

Dessie is the correct EVE Slang for a Destroyer.
