Archon and Fighters assist

Hi guys
I want to rat with vindicator and give support with Archon.
Idea is to stay very close to the POS,turn on links and assign fighters to vindicator

Its possible?

I was more surprised to see that I couldn't even assist with my fighters when I'm on grid.....I thought the problem was just people delegating fighters from a POS.

It was a flavour of the month complaint so the whole mechanic was removed.

with a fit full of drone mods 5 fighters do 1k+ dps, go 5km/s+, and can track just about anything. assisting them to frigs gets silly very fast. On grid I don't really have a problem with it as that is a squishy carrier. Personally I like the don't let bonuses apply when fighters are off grid or maybe assisted. not sure how easy that would be to code though.
