Standing Desks...

I'm looking into getting a standing desk. Does anyone have any wisdom, experiences, recommendations, tips, warnings, guides about heights for wrists/monitor, and so on about standing desks they're willing to share? This would be primarily a computer desk for work and game playing after work.

Something like the Ikea motorized adjustable standing/sitting Bekant desk has piqued my interest, but I'd like to ping the community brain trust before committing.

edit: Also, there are "desks that sit on standard desks" that also look promising (and cheaper/easier) over buying a full size standing desk.

I like lying desks. You lay on the desk and watch the ceiling while sipping beer.

If you're worried about sitting because of your back (and legs), you could try squatting. Most chairs are a bit small for that though so get a larger one and you can use a normal desk. I was having back and leg problems while in Uni from sitting so much, and I found squatting like a baby to help tremendously. Takes some getting used to though, when you've been sitting in chairs your whole life, your body forgets how to squat properly. I do recommend it though.

Standing desks have told me that since they never get a chance to sit, their legs get very sore.

All joking aside, if you're comfortable with it, buy it. If you find that you're not, return it and get something different.

Ask any old person who spent most of their lives working on their feet, whether they think these desks are a good idea.
