Plan -

New/different bonus.

"While in triage receives an X% bonus to Armour and Shield resists"

This would allow the Nidhoggur to be as/more survivable than an Archon/Chimera while in triage while retaining its relatively lack luster ability to tank outside of triage, making it the most useful triage carrier which would in turn make it, useful, because apart from repping POS'es its not really that useful at the moment.

Opinions/flaming please -

I'd prefer an active tanking bonus to this idea, but I'm ok with making a decision to trade local tank for remote rep power.

Granted, the Nid is a tad underwhelming in actual combat situations, but Minmatar not being flat out best in every single category is the last bit preventing this game from totally becoming Minmatar online.

Thats the whole point, it will still be worse than every other carrier apart from in Triage, this just makes it useful in a specific role, which is how all balancing should work to be quite frank.

Good things about the Nid:
- Its the best RR ship in the game
- Its the best looking
- The sensor strength deficit doesn't matter in triage
- It locks fastest
- It aligns fastest
- It is fastest

Really, the only thing that bothers me about it is that I don't think the fittings buff went far enough... but really the Chimera is the carrier that really needs help now.

why not being invulnerable while in triage, it is winmatar after all should be the best in everything that race doesnt need any 2nd 3rd or 4th place ever for the job

Grammar please.

Why is everybody trying to make this into "Winmatar wah wah wah wah" thread, jeeze I don't even fly Nids, my carrier Pilot flys Chimeras (Which by the way needs a looking at in the CPU department) and is training for an Archon next, I don't want the Nid to be OP, I want it to be useful for something that isn't repping POS'es.

I like the nidhoggur as is. It would be handy to be able to fit 4x RR with a triage setup instead of 3 (archon and thanny can do this), but I'm such a km whore anyways I'd never fit a 4th one anyways (I use a single heavy neut). But maybe somewhere out there someone would put such an ability to use. I agree that it really is the chimera that needs the love. Frankly it needed love more than the niddy did. Not that I'm complaining about the niddy buff.

Fireworks and snowballs are great, but what I really want is a corpse launcher.

Well thats Minmatar design philosophy. The race that is fastest and gets 2+ damage mods to turrets was kinda bound to be left in the cold one it comes to the class of no guns, big and slow.
At least you get to rep both armor and shield.
