Caroline's Star - Was this the last chance for the Jove?

So since the implementation of Thera and the Caroline's Star anomaly we have seen plenty of changes in New Eden.

But the one thing that struck me as strange is the striking resemblance to the Seyllin Crisis which lead to the formation of W-Space access in New Eden.

To be more specific during the Seyllin Crisis for those who have not read about it or heard of it a star in the Seyllin system was experiencing a Radio-logical event which knocked out communications with the Gallente Mining colony on the first planet in they system. The evidence pointed to a potential nuclear attack, and as such this lead to a heightening in the conflict between the Federation and the State. Once it was reaffirmed that it was not an attack humanitarian aid began, but too late. CONCORD blockaded the system and the evacuation was halted as "Zero Hour" approached, which upon arrival lead to the detonation of the star and the resulting plasma wave annihilated the First planet in the solar system, shattering it like glass. and wiping out half a Billion Federation Citizens.

This was one of four similar radio-logical events that day.

Shortly after the crisis Unstable wormholes were reported in New Eden, and the sleepers awoke.

Now Caroline's Star has also let out some form of pulse which has reportedly caused disturbances outside the appearance of seekers and drifters, the star is rapidly expanding and consuming the system and some neighboring systems And the Jovian Stargates have gone offline quite suddenly..

Now before i dive into my personal theory here lets focus on what we know:

- New Wormholes have opened since the Caroline's Star "Detonation" much like the Seyllin Event.
- Drifters and seekers have appeared and are harvesting corpses, perhaps to make their own bodies or for research.
- Drifters wield technology which has been compared to ancient jovian tech, which far surpasses the tech we have access to
- Broadcasts from Drifter territory showcase massive structures and hundreds, if not thousands of drifter warships possibly preparing for a full scale invasion of K-Space, or simply to move into neighboring W-Space. What happens next is yet to be known.
- Planets in the New Wormholes have no surviving moons, and no planets left intact, bearing a striking resemblance to the Seyllin Crisis on a Larger scale.
- there is no word on the fate of jove since the Caroline Star event.

Now heres my theory:

Is it possible that the drifters, wielding powerful ancient jovian technology and breaking free of the construct could have posed a significant threat to the dwindling jove populace despite their technological superiority? ( an arguement can be made that perhaps the only weakness to jove tech, IS jove tech )

If the above is so, could a large invasion of Jove Space have occured without our knowing?

Now the Questions of course would be why?

-For newer more powerful jovian tech?
-For jovian bodies for the drifters to reconstruct their own new bodies in a "superior" form?
-For revenge over something that happened Eons ago to which we may not have knowledge (yet)? ( this is based off a reading that the drifters may actually be one of many ancient jovian peoples )

And of course assuming any of the above is it possible that rather than risking their future and the lives of some jove fighting back against their own, albeit outdated tech, the jove instead chose to lure the drifters to Caroline's Star and force a detonation that would annihilate the drifter fleet then subsequently seal off their borders and hope to contain any survivors from the drifters outside of New Eden and in small enough numbers that they could be destroyed or simply die off? and could this have interacted with the wormholes, shattering the planets inside like Seyllin?

Now of course this also may have backfired with the formation of new wormholes back to new eden and Anoikis ( or however you spell that ) and the drifters may now be seeking to replenish their numbers who died in the detonation or simply be out for blood in revenge for something we had no direct hand in?

Our consciousness can be transferred, is it possible that drifters do too and thats why they are rebuilding bodies? Or are these fresh bodies designed and programmed to simply do the bidding of the controllers?

Right now this is all theory and conjecture, some of it is even much much more than a reasonable stretch from logical paths.

I don't have all the information, none of us do, but it would be interesting to hear other peoples opinion on the drifters and the current developments, perhaps even shedding some light on points that may have been overlooked. Comments, questions, and of course conjecture welcomed below.

Much conjecture regarding this is taking place in the IGS, but of course the concept of character knowledge limits it a bit there.

My own theory is thus:

The Seekers showed up and immediately began scanning, literally seeking something.

The Jove Observatories malfunctioned because *reasons*, and suddenly the Seekers focused more on them.

The Observatories revealed logs of capsuleer activity, which indicates that the Seekers were after information on something within capsuleer society.

The Seekers were then quickly supplemented with Drifter battleships. (My personal opinion on these being that, as they share only two identities, they are singular entities who exist in multiple simultaneous iterations through numerous clones - forbidden by law and morality, but they don't seem very concerned about our laws or morals.)

The Drifter task forces - for lack of a better term - focus their movements and activity primarily in Amarr space.

So... Given what we know about the Amarr and specifically about Jamyl Sarum (e.g. ripping implants out of Sleepers, possession of undisclosed tech, The Other, et cetera), I would say they are either vengeful or seeking someone or something in particular.

Taking into account their comparatively defensive stance thus far, they are either securing a proverbial beachhead or hunting The Other. My ISK is on the latter.

No, I'm not that kind of doctor.

Thats actually a very interesting theory, I never drew the line between the seekers, the other, and their literal focus on Amarrian space. This is why its great getting other opinions and voices about topics.

One does have to wonder why they might be searching for the Other and of course the consequences of such a powerful force reaching the Other, who has shown an affinity for meddling in our business for quite some time.
