Reading combat logs

The in-game combat log doesn't seem to record for me unless I have the window out at the time of the fight, and I always forget to do that. And even when I don't, it seems to lag behind a few minutes, not record some info, and even just wipe beginnings of fights at random (even when I set it to record 1,000 events and removed all non-combat related logging info).

So in other words it's just not reliable at all, but the game does leave .txt logs in the documents folder. I was wondering if there are any programs out there that read it and produce a more readable log?

I'm sure someone has an app for it.

IIRC, when closed, the in-game log will reset on a session change, including but not limited to: jumping system, joining fleet, and ship exploding.

Yes, that's what I said. I was just wondering if there were any programs already available that would read those files and do something useful with them.

Hmm, I'm not aware of any, but I've asked myself the same question before. Might be interesting to do something with it.
