What is the best Covert Ops frigate?

Whatever is the fastest to skill up?

Yes I know the Helios is the worst, but I trained it because I already had trained up Gallente Frig 5 for other things. I don't personally think any of the Covert ops frigs are amazing enough to train for specifically. If and when i cross train another race I will likely get other ones.

cheetah or hound

yes hound is a SB, but honestly if you think you're going to be able to gun someone down in a cov-ops you're crazy
its bad enough to try and tackle someone in a tankless frig yet alone trying to out gun them with 2 small turrets

but for recon, travel, blockade running and general cloaky games the Cheetah is best

Cov Ops are perfectly viable PVP ships for solo fights.

Yeah, I'll give you $10 if you show me how to fit a cloak on a Charon.

Seriously though - almost anything can fit a cloak, and thus almost anything can feed people's paranoia. The Cov Ops cloak is real nice because it lets you move around, but if your game is to deny the system you just need to sit in your safe spot all day and don't actually need to go anywhere.

Thanks for the tip, now I shall return to terrorizing the natives of.... oops, I almost named the system, let's just say it has a "-" in it

Alright, related question, which one is the best for AFK cloaking and pissing off botters by just sitting in system all day and not letting them bot their bots?

BS.

You want to screw with active players. Why would bot makers not make their bots go into another system to make funds once it feels you are likely AFK?

This is why I hope my idea for adding balance to cloaking by removing the incentive for long term AFK cloaking is one day implemented.

Anathema is the best all around Covops BTW

Cheata overall because it does everything any of the others do, but it's much more agile & the fastest one cloaked. This means a lot if you are sneaking up on a target and trying to get there fast or get in very close with out getting uncloaked. Not to mention getting away from competent bubble camps.

The Anathema is probably the best tackle covt ops. You can fit a pretty nice little set up on it with an AB, scram & dual tracking disruptors that will let you get a quick tackle so your main PVP ships can land.

Bit like this but without a web.

[Helios, PVP]
Nanofiber Internal Structure II
Co-Processor II
Internal Force Field Array I

1MN Afterburner II
Faint Epsilon Warp Scrambler I
Fleeting Propulsion Inhibitor I
Balmer Series Tracking Disruptor I, Tracking Speed Disruption
Balmer Series Tracking Disruptor I, Tracking Speed Disruption

Expanded Probe Launcher II, Combat Scanner Probe I
Covert Ops Cloaking Device II

Small Gravity Capacitor Upgrade I
Small Gravity Capacitor Upgrade I

Hobgoblin II x1

Helios is also most agile I believe

I think he meant more like this (faster, more agile and slightly smaller signature - just don't get hit - and you don't need a web):

[Anathema, Tackler]

Covert Ops Cloaking Device II
Expanded Probe Launcher II, Sisters Combat Scanner Probe
Salvager I /OFFLINE

Gistii B-Type 1MN Afterburner
Faint Epsilon Warp Scrambler I
Balmer Series Tracking Disruptor I, Tracking Speed Disruption
Balmer Series Tracking Disruptor I, Tracking Speed Disruption

Nanofiber Internal Structure II

Once a bot starts feeling that people might be AFK we'll have more serious problems than AFK cloakers.

Yeah, I was under the impression that bots would either dock up or warp back to a real safe such as next to an online POS tower if there was someone unknown in system

So far, I know that I've been scouting my target system for nearly 24 hours now (yes, I'm an independently wealthy neckbeard with a mean stimulant addiction) and the natives haven't been away from their towers at all with no reaction in local to my varied attempts to communicate (though there was the single fleet invite, apparently they think I'm ******* ********)

Anyways, it will not be long before the Dread fleet comes along to clear out this system of all of its towers and customs offices

Anathema for an all purpose ship, with the best slot layout and PG. If you want it for a specific purpose, you might get better results out of a particular hull. Cheetah for speed scouting, helios for frigate baiting, buzzard for dual web, etc. Really though, for just probing or cloaky scouting, the difference between them is insignificant.

That would imply getting caught at the other side of the gate by bubbles, etc. Yes please, I want bots that move from system to system!!! Yumm! Better yet if they build bots that can cyno jump.
