Drake or raven which is better for isk per angel ratting

Hello everyone im new to angel ratting and have been using a drake for a while the tank is fine but the dps is low.

I want to move to a raven but i dont think its worthwhile, or so i think.
The raven has better dps but cant hit frigates or crusiers a swell as a drake can. The drake dos'nt need a tp or rigor rigs, but the raven does to hit frigates and crusiers effectivly.

The raven could hit the BS and kill them faster, but to survive the sites like havens, it would need a good tank and to have a good tank to last that long you need to fit ccc rigs to give you enough cap to run your tank pretty much stable, so i would'nt be able to fit rigor rigs or a TP without losing tank. i know the raven has med and lights drones which help kill smaller ships but that is not as good as the drake at killing them, but if i swapped ship from a drake to a raven, will it actually speed up ratting and increase my isk per hour. So why change to a raven to me it dos'nt feel like a major inprovement, and would it actually increase my isk per hour?

I can kill regular rat frigates with one salvo of cruise missiles. Regular rat cruisers usually take two salvos of cruise missiles. That with 3 t1 rigor rigs, no tp.

How do you fit your raven, because i use the rigs for 3xccc rigs so i can run my tank, without it i cant get a good enough tank to run havens, and i have max sheild skills cap and missles, whats your raven fit?

If you're ratting then you're at <35km range so a HAM drake with 5 HAMs and 2 Assault launchers is more than capable.

High
HAM Launcher II - Terror missile x5
Assault Missile Launcher II - Bloodclaw x2
Salvager ?

Mid
Large Shield Extender II x 2
Exp Shield Hardner II
Webifier (faction if possible)
Shield booster or exp amp or tp

Low

You should use Kin missiles only with a drake unless you're killing drones when EM is more efficient

If you switch the highs for T2 Heavy lanuchersx7 you can do most lvl 4 missions by fitting 2 mission specific hardners in the mid with a large shield booster and carring the correct T2 Drones.

Also train both Light Missile Specialization and both heavy/heavy assault missile specialization. This allows the use of T2 missiles which can be useful against battleships in Lvl4 missions, where the mission bounties more than offset the missile costs.

Note: Personally I prefer an AC fitted cyclone for killing Angle complexes and rats upto cruiser/bc size

Don't want to offense anyone, but read the first post at least :)

she's a red overlord, so having fun somewhere in the south (on 2d map) with angels havens. not to mention sanctum so true sec <0.7

i've done that before so yes she's right. Drake have a good tank, but low DPS. Raven has better dps, but can't tank anything out there even forsaken hubs (i talk about a dpssing raven, not a lvl4 afking)

don't even mention scourge missile, angels cartel has 55-60% resists. unless you're already playing with scourge fury, it's worthless, use havoc only even on a drake.

a raven fitted like above is a dead raven where you are.

my adv is if you can rat with another player (cap shield transfert... :p ), then you can go to a full dps raven / CNR / golem
remove the cap injector and plug some painters. then rush to cruise even torpedoes T2.
but alone you'll be dead in seconds. well trained cnr (torp) can go up to 1400dps without tank.

drake is pretty good with T2 fury and 3Ballistics, but your tank will drop significantly,

you must choose your skill path before this. if willing to go with caps/supercaps then raven is the way
if you want to play command ship and those tiny ships, then BC5 and cruiser 5 etc.. then take a tengu to rat.

PS : if you're very alone, then first gg, second, caldari bs alone will pop in anomalies. even a well tanked raven

Im glad someone knows what theyre talking about no offence to the others but thats exactly the problem i have the drake is good at doing angel rats but the dps lacks and the raven you cant do it effiecntly as well as the drake... maybe a tengu would be the best bet but to tank havens and sanctums it may need a better tank and lose some gank but hopefully better than a drake. Ill have to test it out and see but your advice was great thank you. I only use havoc aswell like you said the the bonus dose not help with angels. and i roam on my own atm because my corp is quite laid back and like to do theyre own thing, even though i think it would be more profitable to work together. i quess a raven would'nt really inprove isk per hour... shame. I really want more pew pew.

Yeah... you can fit a T2 Tengu and have absolutely no problems with tanking anything. I can run a Sanctum in about 40 minutes using a Tengu with nothing but a Republic Fleet 10MN Afterburner for faction mods.

yes i saw a tengu soloting sanctums alone, ******* tengu !
my drake couldn't tank the hardest spawn with 750hp/S at 30% and (3LSE; 2invul+Explo; 3ShieldPwR ; 1 PwrDiag ; 3 Purger)
even with large shield transfert it was very hard. and the dps was sucking :)

for BS way, a corpmate ran havens with a golem. you can have a good tank, but have to stick with torp to maximize the damage thus reducing incoming dps. (run little cruiser, run ! (forget about the 250km range :p ) )

by the time you need to rise Advanced weapons upgrade 5, you can choose Capital/Carrier skill instead. same hull price but pve tank is... omg :)

well... another choice would be a machariel...
