In trying to organize the clutter I started using station containers only to notice that anything inside is made inaccessible to Industry.

Maybe create Industry Containers for indy usage?

Are freight containers big enough for your needs? Because you can do industry into and out of those.

check again.
most of my station containers only for industry - never have a problem.
when you see the industry tab - you can select where from you can take materials.

Confirming I don't have a problem using them.

Heh, yeah those input/output selectors aren't obvious enough, took me quite a while to find them.

I'll crudely Photoshop an image of Helen Thomas onto a picture of your choosing for 30m. PM me.

Ditto. have the problem with selecting the correct output location the first time I use a new blueprint....
