History says otherwise. You still owe me one Thanatos as the winner of the original Thunderdome against Leto.

I am willing to overlook this debt, for now, in order to facilitate this event but please don't go making patently false statements about what you owe who when THUNDERDOME is involved. I do not wish the event to be cheapened or sullied.

I'm still not sure how you forged that post (as clearly stated in said post), but I will agree that we should set your shady at best claims asside until Leto repays his debt to me. We'll settle things in order.

So, I've been asked: are character substitutions allowed? I'm disinclined to allow it, but I'm not the final authority here.

What say you?

The 500 mil for the winner (less Leto....) is for the bracket listed. Let's not complicate this at the last minute.

I thought of substitutions and decided against it despite Trosken Neirfallas being skilled for solo combat and Noragen not so much. But in spite of this as this is c&p I believe rule 1 applies.

In light of debts being called out here, I would like to bring forward this fact:

I don't know that anyone owes me a ship, but I think I deserve a rubber Armageddon.

I deserve it. I'm worth it.

Also, I am going to try to fight on Monday if Mort can swing it. Today is shot and tomorrow looks about the same.

I also was thinking on ways to make this a more skill based competition.

I've been struggling to find a good all around build that doesn't fall into kite/melee (paper/rock/scissors) dilemma.
I'm struggling with the question of
1) we start at closer than 10k so a melee build will win
2) we start farther away than 10k so a kite build will win.
3) we both bring melee or both kite... In which case it's a more interesting fight or stalemate.

Every "crossover" solution I've found so far has been crap.

I'm still working and I'll choose one for Thunderdome , but here is what I was thinking.

What if we did a challenge in the future that created really complex maneuver mechanics to determine who knew his maneuver tactics best?
I was thinking a challenge where we make a standard ship and all use the same. Put both missiles and guns on it so you have to choose a mitigation strategy. Use an AB and nanos to make the ship capable of mitigating either guns or missiles to about the same amount. Eliminate webs and neuts (because they simplify maneuver).

I don't know if that would be as cool in reality as it sounds in my head, but I figured I would share it.

I know how much you all like it when I share...

Mo,

Just like any fight in EVE, knowing your target is always step one in deciding the victor. There aren't any rules based on kiters or brawlers, and if you fit correctly, you won't need to worry about the differences. When creating a fit for a thunderdome match, it may not be a cookie cutter fit or some crap from shyteclinic. If you are bringing a brawler, bring rails instead of blasters. Bring a mobile depot to refit to tracking mods... Think outside the box.

I am here to report that EvE Solecist has not kept to the terms of Thundedome and refused to engage me in deep space. I made several attempts to accommodate them in a manner keeping with the spirit of Thunderdome (including fighting in losec to accommodate the fact that they are -10), but they refused demanding that the fight happen on-grid with a station or a gate. As they refused to participate, I request that my bracket be recorded as a forfeit on their part, or that it be opened up to another competitor.

I second the motion to forfeit the match and have Bronson move into the next round. That's just silly.

So it is noted.

How disappointing. I shall advance the bracket.

Mo and I duked it tonight. Great fight, had fun, nice guy.

Thanks Mo.

EDIT: Might be sketchy in terms of availability for coming matches. RL stuff quite pressing atm so patience would be appreciated.

Wow. Totally missed this topic.

I'll have to wait until the next time to throw in my hat. But for now I'll toss in 500M to the winner.

On the plus side if I did see this earlier I might of put ISK on my boy Tengu... saved a few pennies there for my tardiness.Blink
