Counter-kite fits.

I'm looking for some general guidelines for direct counter-kite fits over the more obvious being able to land on top of them and tackle them.

Example:

[Tormentor, Small Focused Torm]
Small Ancillary Armor Repairer, Nanite Repair Paste
Extruded Heat Sink I
Extruded Heat Sink I
Adaptive Nano Plating II

Target Painter I
Limited 1MN Afterburner I
Cap Recharger II

Small Focused Beam Laser II, Aurora S
Small Focused Beam Laser II, Aurora S
Small Focused Beam Laser II, Aurora S

Small Energy Collision Accelerator I
Small Capacitor Control Circuit I
Small Capacitor Control Circuit I

Acolyte II x2

Economizing on speed and using ewar, good flying should counteract the tracking problem of Aurora on top of beam lasers when hitting an MWD target. There's no point because there's no range control, which would make it easy for a kiter to just get out of range anyway, and some linked ships will have a longer WD range than you as well.

What viable designs can directly counter the current kite meta?

People talk about how eve is better than WoW. I still get one shotted undocking in a frigate if there's a WT thrasher outside. It looks eerily similar to getting one shotted in WoW battlegrounds by a x9 level player when you're x1-4 levels.

Dual prop anything!


BTW that torm doesn't need target painter or anything, mwd sig bloom will make you hit no problem with aurora

Hey, thanks for the advice! I only put the TP on there because I modeled a torm vs a breacher point kite fit, and if the angular is high in this model the DPS went down to something terrible like 60, and the TP can boost it to 78 even at maximum angular velocity between the two ships.

dual prop firetail, mwd comet, dramiel, atron, tristan, basically anything that can either go over 3.6k/s unheated or apply out to 25k just fine, like rail corms or thrashers, can kill a kiter. except for garmurs, those are pretty broken

You just need to be able to do damage at 50km. Garmurs have no tank.

im a big fan of the arty RFF and the ac dram, dual web and dual prop respectively. although i lose a lot of drams.....a lot.

the RFF is awesome, only thing i can say about it. even more so, they get plenty of fights because players often engage(not sure why?).

also hull tanked(both), because only real men hull tank.

EDIT: you can check my kb for fits, ive lost plenty of both. you do have to realize, that you can hard counter a ship, but a hard counter is not a guarantee. some pilots are just that good.

Usually depends on what you try to counter, but any fastish mwd frigate will do. Or any combat ceptor vs linked opponents.


Unless its a worm, in which case you lose anyways.
