Understanding the trading skills

Hi,

Due to the title I imagine you're probably going to know which skills I'm referring too.

The skills I want a better understanding of are the following:

  • Day Trading
  • Marketing
  • Procurement
  • Visibility

Firstly, and just to set the tone, my understanding if that a basic entry level character can place an order in their current station and with no skills set the range of that order to up to 40 jumps. Thus none of the skills listed above effect that.

  1. MARKETING

    • This skill allows me to be in one station and place a sell order on an item in a different station
    • The higher this skill the further from the station with the item I can be. Up to anywhere in the current region

  2. PROCUREMENT

    • This skill allows me to be in one station and place a buy order on an item in a different station
    • The higher this skill the further from the station I can be. Up to anywhere in the current region
    • This differs from a standard buy order that might have picked the item up as this will be station specific whereas a standard buy order with range would include other stations.

  3. VISIBILITY

    • This skill affects the range of Procurement. Thus with a decent level in both, I can set a buy order on the other side of the region to buy items within a certain range of that station
    • Thus this is useful if I wish to buy within a range of a certain, currently remote area from me, without buying in the whole region

  4. DAYTRADING

    • This skills allows remote adjustment of both buy and sell orders.
    • If I tend to make use of the Procurement and Marketing skills then I should really be matching this skill to those levels else I could find myself having to travel just to make adjustments

Is that about right?

Regards

Everything is correct. And yes, you need Daytrading to have the same range if you want to be able to modify your remote orders.

This thread could be useful for new traders who need clarification on the skills.
