Has anyone been able to get a workaround to lock your 2-3 clients to your monitor's refresh rate (individually)? I run 3 clients, and I'm unable to get 60fps on all 3 at the same time. My main issue being, if any client is not locked to refresh rate, the frames rocket up over 150-200fps+, causing my cards to overheat (especially in CQ w/ Characters).

  • If I set "Interval Default" (Vsync), to main client, it will lock at 60.
  • If I set all 3 to "Interval Default", it splits 60fps by 3, issuing 20fps to each client (unplayable).
  • If I just let it go at "Interval Immediate" (Vsync Off), then my GPUs melt, because I get over 250fps+ on all clients.
  • Have tried setting in drivers, and with Nvidia Inspector, with no success.

How do I lock all 3 clients to 60fps??

Anyone?

It's getting kind of annoying having to run my GPU's at 90%+ fan speed... Rather loud.

Have you setup the cliants to run from different installs? I run 3 at the same time and I used to always have a similar fps isue your enjoying right now, try running in different installs "copy paste the install folder and shourtcut it". I used to have voice problems aswell untill i tried that and it seems to have worked. I also run them in window mode stretched to full screen resolutions if that helps.

I did as it suggests in EVELopedia and created junctions (basically copy-pasted folders), but it still runs identical .exe files. I also run in "full screen windowed".

Thinking that I have to change the names of the 3 .exe files to fool the system/drivers into thinking it's running three different games. Right now, I think it's tricked into thinking it's queuing up the same game, same file.

On my rig each client has it's own graphics card and they all run at 60fps no problem.

Nvidia ? What drivers are you using.. ?

I've been using 290.36, and about to try the new 290.53.

I have this exact same problem, Interval One or Default shares FPS across 3 clients (20 FPS) each, and interval immediate cooks my cards. I only have 2 cards, but even when run from separate installation, on separate disks, separate monitors, and renamed exe's (eve.exe, cant rename the exefile.exe or fails to launch) but they still still share FPS. I'm running the Nvidia 290.36 Beta Drivers also. Please post a reply if you update to 290.53 fixes this issue.

Specs:
Intel Core i7 3.4 GHz Quad Core, Dual Channel
16 GB 1033 MHz Ram
2x Geforce GTX 460 SE (Over clocked to 810/1900 MHz)
3x Internal 1 TB 6 GB/sec Sata Hard Drives
Windows 7 Home Premium 64 Bit
Nvidia 290.36 Beta Drivers.

Thank You,

Why don't you just force the refresh rate using the graphics driver control panel?

Edit - ah you have. Are you sure windows has the monitors all running at the same refresh rate? There was a problem with Windows 7 where it'd set refresh rate to 59.997 or similar rather than 60 Hz when you connected multiple monitors - can't remember how I fixed that though.

I checked that too, seemed like it would be a problem. I have 2 monitors that were running at 59hz, with my main at 60hz (for some reason), and even after forcing 60hz on all 3, it still has the same split FPS problem. I really don't know what it is..

My only guess is that Nvidia thinks it's running the same application, so it keeps applying the vsync to each instance. No idea how to fix it.

I've tried the latest beta drivers 290.53, so no luck on that either.

Sorry, forgot to add I'm using ATI HD3870's with the latest Catalyst package.

I checked the graphics setting in my clients. For 3 clients, try setting 2 clients to Interval Immediate and the 3rd to Interval Default. It should lock all three clients to whatever the Interval Default client is running at.

Just thought id let you know, I'm currently talking with nvidia tech support to attempt to find a solution, so far we have:

Rolled back to 275.33 Drivers
Clean install of the 290.36 Beta Driver
Updated to the newest 290.56 Beta Drivers

none of these have any effect on the multi-client FPS sharing issue.I did have to re-install my 3D Transmitter each time thoe.
at this point they believe it to be an issue with the game itself, probably something cause by the most recent expansion.

On a personal note:
CCP Closed my petition with a cut and paste answer to file a bug report. The bug report has not been assessed as of this post. Another fine example of CCP's winning customer service, hard at napping. Ive already had more chats with nvidia customer support about eve than with CCP and its not even there product and 90% likely caused by CCP.

I haven't been looking at the Issues forum as I have more been monitoring the Test Server feedback for my team. But I did come across this thread. Found your report, assigning it to someone to have a look.

Well I can chime in with my rig that is not having any probs with 3 clients:

Core i7 6-core
Asus sabertooth x58 motherboard
ATI 6970 - no issues over the last year worth of driver updates
3 Samsung monitors @ 1920 x 1200

Frame rates seem to be fine and i constantly run 3 clients in windowed mode. All clients are launched from the same client install. I haven't had to bother copying multiple client directories.

I confirmed VirusMD's issue on my machine. Introduced only recently in Crucible it seems.
Your report is in our system, I will update here again when it is fully identified + fixed.

pair of GTX570's here running in 3 monitor mode.

One client per screen, all windowed mode.

All three clients FPS monitor show 60fps at the same time

Set to interval 1 all settings on high except AA is off on all three... that does lag me big time with 3 clients

Happy to provide exports / screenshots if needed.

Thank you for your response Paradox, please keep me/us informed. Is it to early for an estimated time for the fix? Maybe its hardware specific something I can change temporarily, I have several machines. Moving parts around is no problem.

I have a similiar problem. Using GTX570.

On 1 screen running 1 client:
Interval one = 60FPS
Interval Default = 60FPS
Interval Immediate = 200+FPS

On 2 screens using split screen, running 1 client on one of the screens only:
Interval one = 30FPS
Interval Default = 30FPS
Interval Immediate = 200+FPS

Seems like EvE is using these maths: "60fps/screens = fps per screen" Blink

If you're reading this then that means my time travel worked

I'm glad it's being looked into.. would be interesting to know the real cause. Considering it's only a select few players here and there.

i am having literally the same issue, running 2x 570 GTX.

rest of my specs are:

Intel i7 2600k @ 4.4Ghz
16GB of DDR3 RAM @ 1600mhz
Asus P67 Sabretooth
2x Dell 24" LED's (1920x1080) and 1x Samsung 24" LED (1920x1080)
2x EVGA 570GTX SuperClocked

i thought initially that it might have been the SLI bridge and after a lot of poking i somehow ended up in this thread, i can confirm that both with and without it the issue persists~
