Yes, I know data centers exist but these are not repeatable and don't give a high enough boost for Excellent faction standings.

I decided I wanted a character with >7 faction standings. I followed the Faction Standings Repair Plan (props to the author btw, excellent job). It took me three weeks of casual play to reach my goal. Now that I finally have the standings required for my original goal I feel burnt out and couldn't be bothered going through with my plan!

I hate highsec PvE. I don't enjoy grinding. I DON'T PLAY THIS GAME FOR THE MISSIONS! And I can guarantee that many other players would prefer me out there doing something risky instead of wasting time grinding in highsec.

CCP, please just let me pay a player who does enjoy this game play instead of grinding it myself. It is working for sec status - please just unlock repeats on data centers or introduce Tags4Standings.

You can do that for corp and agent standings but not faction.

It already exists in the form of data centres. You hand tags farmed by mission runners and receive standings in return. But they are single-use agents so you can't repeat. The change is just to unlock them so you can repeat.

Alternatively, they could introduce new tags as per Tags4Sec.

Not yet. I have done the career agents, data centers and most of the COSMOS agents. Epic Arc would have been next.

Note that I'm not complaining that it is impossible to raise standings. I just really don't enjoy the game play required to do so - not enough player interaction. And I don't see why I should be required to grind something that I find just awful.

A friend with a free slot to redo the SOE arc repeatedly works. But at 8 hours or so just from flying A to B to complete it, that could be very expensive.

Like you have said, Tags for standings and remove tags from the LP stores solves both standing grinding and LP store prices for certain items.

You could even implement a limited amount per day to stop it being too consequence free. But so it's not a long grind, just 2 mins a day then you do other things.

No, I did nothing to reduce my standings. The character's standings toward the faction were 0.

Some people just don't comprehend what you wrote.
I had a look at my faction standings, just to get to an unadjusted 5 with any of the empire factions would be a slog, never mind getting to 7.

I love it when players farm one particular faction and don't consider keeping their other standings right.

1) From base zero standings train the relevant 'social' skills to level five.

2) Doing the two lowest category of data centre tags (Copper & Bronze?) for eg Minmatar & Gallente will get you over 2.00 'effective' for both Minmatar & Gallente.

3) Doing the high sec only COSMOS missions for both Gallente & Minmatar will get you well over 8.00 'effective' with both factions plus quite a lot of corporation & navy corp standings. Don't do the Thukker Tribe ones as these are detrimental for Gallente standings.

The same can be done for Amarr/Caldari if they are more favourable for you. It doesn't take that long to do this.

Personally I would not like to see a tag based system to raise standings. Making the game too easy is not the way to go. I would like to see more interaction requirements between the NPC empires and capsuleers. Sadly we are slowly going in the opposite direction.
