can i get hold of a texture file?

I'm trying to get a custom vinyl wrap.
I'm hoping to get federation navy camouflage and was wondering if anyone knows if I can get a flattened image of The texture.
can I get it from the install files or has someone already made it available?

if the forums turns up nothing, you can try petitioning or e-mailing support@ccpgames.com or looking up the web contact and asking. Sometimes if you ask, you can get.

To make the skin system work all the ship textures are all painted white and grey and then the skin you use is painted on top of that, even the default one.

So from there I'm not sure it'll be very easy to grab.

Definitely worth a try, CCP do seem like nice guys and who would turn down a bit a free advertising (as I spam FB and vaping forums with pics of my Fed navy standard issue E-cig Big smile)

Triexporter. You can access the 3d ship models and their textures using it.

What ship are you wanting the navy texture for?

The navy textures are different I am unsure how they work. http://eve-files.com/dl/273843

For what you're asking, "texture" is the correct term. A "skin" in our terminology is a package of textures and shader settings that are optionally applied to a hull as a group.

The easiest way to get access to these might be to look at the assets on our content delivery network (CDN) that enable WebGL, and pull out the individual files you want. Have a look at

I asked CCP.
CCP falcon told me that the art team won't let them give out assets.
so I'm back to unpacking the texture, can anyone give me instructions to do this?
the end result would ideally be a jpeg or other editable format.

After an hour off playing With triexporter it seems that's beyond me too, can't get it to work.

the graphic designer is willing to give it a shot using screenshots of the ships.
but I'd rather an actual eve player who knows the game and ships have a go.

No hurry though, I don't have the money for him until the weekend anyway.

You could take a navy domi, vexor or comet out and take some screen shots of the paint. then try to recreate it to some degree manually in photoshop or gimp.

Or even just use the ship viewer to get the screen shots. Then you don't need to have the ships. You could even use that out of game browser based ship viewer they were using to show off the skins, if you can figure out the codes for the navy paint.

In triexporter navy is under the navy folder but putting navy in doesn't work. But putting police in did. Go figure. I wish widdling the url down to https://web.ccpgamescdn.com/ccpwgl/skindevblog/index.shtml Really did take it to an index as the url wording might suggest.

Even Serenity from a texture folder name in triexporter works.

Just an update to the OP, I am nearly done assembling this camo pattern used with Gallente Navy ships. I'm making it in vector format, so you can get unlimited resolution for your wrap.

Just a question though, you wanted just the camo, right?
Not the bump map or anything over top, just the plain three-colour camo pattern?

yes, vector is a piece of artwork which can scale to any size with no loss of quality. graphic designers love vectors ;)

ps. if he doesnt then he aint a graphic designer
