Prediction that the New Order will end #6843658. You're definitely confirming yourself to be a true carebear, with all the swallowing of anti-Code propaganda entailed.

At least try to be lucid enough to understand that 10M ISK buys you some of the best anti-gank tank around for the money.

Omar, that wasn't directed at you. At all.

Code likes to RP it up. It's their game. If they enjoy it, I'm all for however they want to play. That's my point. But Revis quite literally put words in my mouth that miss the mark by a wide margin. If C&P forums aren't the place to call someone out on that, then well, I guess we'll have to disagree.

No, not end. You have proven to be an established brand. Name recognition counts for a fair bit in EvE and I don't doubt your name will be around for years to come.

But i said you guys will move on. If for no other reason than the people you have now will be 10 years older IRL. With new jobs, and their kids graduations, and blah blah. Trying to be the same entity for the next decade is likely to prove impossible, even if CCP weren't mucking around with the core of the game as much as they are now.

If i'm wrong, that's a sad day for everyone involved.

Bia, actually the lag in me typing out my drunken, yet superbly witty response caused other folks to get their posts intermingled before my super witty and oh so very intellig... **** it I can't spell response landed on grid.

I get code. My warning shot was actually fired over Revis' bow, as there are scores of CODE. threads already in existence, and attemtping to hijack another in the name of propaganda is simply bad form.

You are in the right place, you have used your main, you have been civil.

Because CODE. isn't constantly bringing in new players.

My goodness, you are continually spouting a stream of carebear delusions.

+1 op. I applaud you using your main. Posing a well thought out question as a question. And hell even dealing politely with the attention seeking codie that would normally have my support except he is being a pest here. I also recommend the skiff if you are not 100% focused for any reason. The skiff should save you from halfhearted gank attempts and being aligned and paying attention should save you from bumps and a reasonable gank attempt.

Code permit tank is best tank in highsec. The New Order is not "moving on". CODE. membership isn't static, newbros coming in all the time.

In response to OP and his erroneous comments, if those civil corrections are "being a pest" I plead GUILTY AS CHARGED!

OP: As others have pointed out, if someone really wants to gank you, they can and they will, its just a function of whether or not it's Dessy's or Talos's that get used upon the unwary...

While there is nothing you can do to 100% prevent being ganked, fitting a tank is a good step 1 out of 10 towards making a gank less likely.

Best advice in this thread so far, along with mine. And among tank options, fitting a Code permit tank in your bio is a good step 1 out of 10. Plus it's inexpensive and takes up no slots!

Hi OP!

You seem a fun person with a funny name.

I'd just like to point out that if your rock-crunchers are moving at 8 m/s it would be very easy for a cloaked scout to bump them.

Seriously, save it for those that deserve it. OP has come up with a valid strategy and is asking for opinions, not RP propaganda. You should be encouraging them, not spamming the place.

OT

The basic premise is fine, as long as you're at the keyboard; if they're using Catalysts you have a few seconds max if they land within blaster or scram range. DScanning regularly with the range set to a few AU will give you some warning of incoming; especially useful if you're mining in gated mission space and have the range set to just pick up the acceleration gate.

Mine a fair distance off of the warp-in to the belt, I generally have 2 or 3 spots bookmarked that allow me access to the majority of the belt without moving far from them; beware of people who may be providing a warp in. As others have said consider using Procurors or Skiffs, you'll get less yield but gain valuable seconds if caught unawares. Use standings to set known ganking groups to terrible, they'll show up in local.

In the beginning there was nothing, which exploded.

One option you should consider is to see if you can mitigate damage through orbital speed.

When I'm baiting against gun boats I always drop an orbit can and orbit at a range chosen to reduce inbound damage as much as possible.

If you are worried about the hulks and not about the Orca, you could set up a high speed orbit around the orca. High orbital (the tighter the better against close range ships) can reduce damage substantially and make your tank go a lot longer.

Now, I can't even fly a retriever so take this advice with a grain of salt.

Read about gun mechanics to see how this affects damage, but you should never stand still and traveling in a straight line is no better.

If you are in a belt, orbit something.

Code permit tank is NOT propaganda and is definitely valid advice for being safer from ganks. You're not a noob, so I'm frankly surprised you confused valid advice for propaganda.

Pay attention to local. Try to avoid systems that see frequent ganker activity. And fit a proper tank; I'd recommend moving to skiffs.

Your creativity is commendable but if you really want to put that kind of effort into interacting with CODE just start hunting them with instalocker. The best anti ganking defense is substantial (skiff) tank + a general awareness of what's going on in your system.

You do not need to sit at your keyboard and spam D-scan. Scan every few minutes and use local, system kill trackers and any other intel sources to develop an accurate picture of your piece of sky. Taking down an orca and multiple mining vessels will require several Talos' or a mob of catalysts and at least a small gang of pilots. Local tank, best tank.
